Keisel Fined For Low Hit On Redskins QB

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel was fined Monday for a hit last week on Washington Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell.

Kiesel was fined $12,500 for hitting Campbell below the knees while he was attempting a pass.

Campbell left the game and Keisel was penalized for a low hit on a quarterback.

The Steelers are set to finish their pre-season this Thursday against the Carolina Panthers.

Brett Keisel said he will appeal the fine he got for hitting Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell in the left leg in an Aug. 18 game.

The NFL has docked Keisel $12,500 for the play in which he also got flagged for roughing the passer. "My defense is I was just playing ball," Keisel said today.

Keisel lost his footing as he was rushing the passer and hit Campbell in the lower leg. Campbell left the game with a bruised knee but the injury was not serious.

Of the appeals process, Keisel said, "You kind of explain the situaition. They can either say 'too bad' or they can take a dollar off."

I can't believe this clown has the audacity to appeal a 12k fine.

If he does it again they should suspend him!

Okay Kiesel, the fine is now 12,499 dollars. But you spent 2 dollars in postage sending your appeal. Way to go!
