Chinese Conspiracy

Post by JansenFan »

We often talk of conspiracy theories and the like in this forum, so I thought I'd put one out for discussion. In the last year, there have been recalls all over the world for a vast array of products that all come from contaminated parts, pieces or ingedients that originated in China. The lastest I saw was children's clothing in Australia that contained 900 times the safe level of formaldihide.

When the dog food thing happened, I chalked it up to either trying to be as cheap as possible and making a tragic mistake. However, every day there seems to be something else that comes up. Is there more to it than a simple mistake? Could they really be accidentily contaminating toys, food and clothing across the globe by accident?

Its the workers. Tired of working for nothing. I mean, like a $5 toy. Made in China. Then packaged, (with a million twist ties). Then shiped here to be sold for $5. They can't be paying these people anything. I imagine close to a sweatshop or something. They all said...

AGGGHHHHH scruw diiiiss. Lets poison d Americans. Then the other workers started chanting

"no more twist ties"
"no more twit ties"

I think this speaks to the larger issue of a lack of regulation in China or, more accurately, an ability to skirt any existing regulations. It's also, frankly, something of an indictment of our ability to ensure the quality of goods that arrive in the states. There are a lot of holes in this process from start to finish, it's not terribly surprising that we've ended up with several leaks.

The manufacturing base in China is so massive that it doesn't surprise me to see mistakes like this. One mistake from one company will make all of the headlines, so the contaminations - and specifically Chinese contaminations - are going to stick out in our mind more than the average recall or problem.

I agree that anecdotally there seems to be a lot of problems coming out of China's manufacturing companies, but I guess I try to keep two things in mind:

(1) China's manufacturing isn't a nationalized entity, so while we may speak of 'the Chinese' doing something, in reality it's an individual working for a firm that runs its operations in China, not "the Chinese" at large. Government involvement as far as recalls or defects go seems unlikely in that sense.

(2) As humans we are easy prey for the availability heuristic. How many of us distrust American toys or food of being basically safe, even though the most deadly food problem in the last couple of years was the Californian spinach? How many American tires, toys, and other products have been recalled in the last 5 years?

It's also relevant to note that China is on a (steep) development curve. Many companies are working out the kind of defects in manufacturing that American companies have dealt with in the past. All of this, of course, is just my My 2 cents.

I wonder if its terrorists?

Osama working for Matel?

Hey, it could be. Some big master plan. It wouldnt be hard for them to do. Fly to China, get some low paying job at Matel. Poison the Americans.

They've put poison in a package before.

This -thread- is no accident. I have been keeping an eye on you buddy. I have a theory that you are a conspirator with an apparent front face but really infiltrated in this website by a hostile enemy country with an attempt to introduce vasts amounts of misinformation and hate propaganda into the innocent minds and hearts of the true Redskins fans.

It has become clear to me that you are not alone in this treacherous business. As in other cases, you do have accomplices and partners in crime. Sure you guys wish to disguise but you can not hide from me. I know Fios is on your team of backstabbing criminals. You just have to watch him. How many times have you read a post from him saying something like:

"If Gibbs/Bugel said so it is fine by me ..." as a MAIN argument. I mean, any ignorant foreign infiltrator could come up with such a post and still hide behind the fence as one of the "knowledgeable" faithful ...

Chris Luva Luva is not far behind. How many times have you heard him say something like:

"The world is coming to an end. The Redskins franchise is dead forever and ever" as his main argument. I mean, we all know that, right? So, why is he trying to depress us even more? Right! He's a foreign enemy too.

But make no mistake, we are keeping an eye on all of you and your secret double-lives.

Food for serious thought.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
