No respect up here.
Living an hour northeast of Philly, I gotta tell you we are getting NO respect from the media here
. Talk radio has the Eagles going 14-2, with losses to the Giants and Cowgirls. The Eagles feel they have a better team than they ever had, better than the one that went to the SB with T.O. The hype up here is unreal, they're talking about who their opponent might be in the NFC championship game, for real!! I know we haven't got respect in recent years, but this year is the worst as far as that goes. I'm not sure if they're going on the fact that we have an unproven qb or what. I really feel, when you go position by position, we can compete with anyone in the NFC.

Man, I hear you. The folks here in Philly honestly think they have the best team in the NFC. When they run down the teams in the East they laugh off any chances the Skins have. They make fun of Gibbs and they don't even mention the players. They make fun of signing London Fletcher because he is old but they think signing Takeo Spikes was the best thing that will push them over the top. They are delusional - 2 years ago they were 6-10, last year they were 5-5 WITH McNabb - they are kidding themselves if they think they are a Super Bowl team.1fan4ramsey wrote:Living an hour northeast of Philly, I gotta tell you we are getting NO respect from the media here. Man, I can't wait. There is nothing more satisfying than watching these thugs get that confused, angry look when their team is getting trounced by us. Can't wait to week 2.rick301 wrote:We got Philly just where we want them - cocky. They won't know what hit them we trounce them on their homefield in week 2. With our safeties, they'll be lucky to end the game without any major injuries to anything other than their pride.

the eagles media and fans are doing exactly what we did last year.. and they will continue to do what we did last year. completley suck during the season and midway kolb is going to replace mcnabb as starting QB. because of an injury or just because he's better. either way. i think thats going to happend

I think thats funny. I know a lot of Philthy fans around here. (my brother is one) and a lot of these guys have almost given up on DM. They are waiting to see how long he can stay healthy..
Whats wierd........these same people were mad Garcia was taking them to playoffs last year, some even didn't care they were in the playoffs because they said they can't win without DM.

Bottom line is Philly won the divison last year, just like they have been for the last ten years.
It is better this way we will go into opposing teams homes and they will hopefully have there guard down and will be suprised. Respect is earned, at this point this squad has yet to earn some respect. Quite frankly I could care less about the respect , I just want wins which gos hand in hand with the respect.

Philly fans don't even respect Santa Claus, players' parents (CP's mama said Knock You Out!), or even their own team when adversity arises. I wouldn't expect them to respect us, before or after we beat them. Just as long as the Eagles players' respect the squad after they come to town hittin', that's fine with me...
Two formation shifts, one man in motion, and a counter trey...those were the days...

Coming back from a beautiful week in Ocean City, MD with my wife and kids I was listening to the sportstalk here in Philly. I know I should not let this bother me but former Phillie pitcher Mitch Williams and a guy named Rob Cherry were doing a show and they started talking about how the Eagles would win the NFC East and probably be 11-5. Then they talked about the Skins and how Gibbs has lost it, the defense stinks, and that we have no QB. After a couple of minutes trying to figure out who the QB was they talked about how all he did was hand the ball off in college and how can Campbell be expected to read defenses and throw the ball when all he's done is hand off. Ugh!
Then, they went on to say the last good QB we had was Sonny and that he was really an Eagle. They mentioned how Theisman, Williams and Rypian sucked even though they won Super Bowls.
I just cannot wait until week 2 when we smoke the Eagles here in Philly. I can't wait until I see the stupid stunned faces in the crowd on TV. I can't wait to hear all the houses on my block go silent as the game wheres on and they can't do their stupid E-A-G-L-E-S chant.
I am just so confident about this season, I can't wait.

Vince Young maybe, but I don't see Ben getting the kind of praise that McNabb gets all the time, so it's hard to see how he'd be considered more overrated. No one says that Roethlisberger is the Steelers best weapon.
I do think that McNabb is a better player than Roethlisberger, but McNabb is still (IMO) the most overrated QB in the league.

Overrated? Don't know about that. He wins pretty consistently as a starter, and he's never had great talent at WR (except TO's one good year) or RB (well, Westbrook is a talent, but he's more of RB-WR hybrid, not really a pure RB) to help him. The big knock on him are his injury issues. But I do respect his talent as a QB. I'd certainly take him over most of the guys we've had line up at QB over the past few years (excluding only Campbell).

All though they are the enemy(Eagles). I must say that Dmacnabb is not overated. This guy led his team to multiple NFC championship games, and one Superbowl. He has always had a stout defense to back him up, a stout offensive line. Other than that he and Bryan Westbrook make up that Offense. What recievers? He basically has had the eagles on his shoulder and is the unquestioned leader. He is easily in the top three qbs in the league. Peyton Manning,Carson Palmer and Donovan Mcnabb are the three best Qbs.
So I do not see where you guys are getting the Donovan Mcnabb is overrated from? Please elaborate.

Tom Brady and Drew Brees are also ahead of McNabb. I do not think McNabb is overrated anymore though as well.
I think the entire NFL East is up for grabs. If McNabb/Kolb play well...the Eagles will be tough. If Dallas doesn't implode they will be tough this season. If the Giants get some sort of "team" going then they will be tough. If we get an offensive attack going...we can beat anyone!
This division is totally up for grabs and any one team saying they are dominant are drinking their own brand of koolaid!
