Well my prediction.....
Is the skins will win.

As far as debating real data,
That just shows the skins have a higher chance of winning the game.
My 2 cents
I firmly believe the Patriots are the antichrist.

Sorry, i fail to see any injury that happens IN a football game as much of a 'freak' injury.

Casey Rabach getting thrown from his ATV and gashing his leg last off-season was what I would class a 'freak injury'... players hurt their hands on players' helmets all the time.

We get it - Ronnie will post some arbitrary amount of rushing yards that according to you will be anywhere from 1400 to 2000 yards. Not exactly a stretch, considering that they have a new quartrback coming into a new system. But you're still ignoring questions...

What happens if Ronnie Brown gets hurt... what will the Dolphins do?

What about Trent Green? What if he gets hurt?

And on the Redskins' offense... no doubt at all that they were dismal last season and couldn't score points, especially at the beginning. A large amount of that comes from learning a new system - you know, the exact same thing that most of us are pointing to as to why Miami's offense could struggle this season?!?!?!?

HOWEVER, we took Brunell out, put Campbell in, and now the kid is going to get his chance. The entire offense has also had a year to learn Saunders' system and grow into it. Brandon Lloyd told us that this year they won't have to think, they just have to play... big difference.

You pin your entire offensive 'hopes' on Ronnie Brown, so maybe you should also take into consideration that our premier running back got hurt in the very first preseason game, and played with that injury for as long as he could. (That also hurt the offense until we brought Betts in and made Clinton sit down and let his injures mend).

Santana Moss was also nicked for a lot of the year.

So other than the fact that our star RB and WR were either dinged or out, or the fact that we changed quarterbacks and converted to a completely new offensive system... i really don't know why our offense sputtered so badly.

I do know that all injuries are healed, our young quarterback is ready and raring to go, and they all have an extra year in the system. To me that's definitely more cause for optimism than bringing in an aging QB who sat most of last year, bringing in a new offensive system, completely juggling an already unstable o-line, and having no depth whatsoever.

My 2 cents

Well Cam Cameron loves using his toys and Ronnie Brown is his shiniest toy. The entire offense will go through him this year with a 55-45 attack in favor of running, along with several attempts to pass the ball to Ronnie in each game. If Ronnie goes down, we're in trouble, I'll be the first to say that.

Moss and Chambers both had down years last year, I see both of them rebounding and getting back to their originial form. Moss could very well have a good day on our secondary but we do have the speed to match Moss and Randel El. Our best pass defense is our pass rush. Say all you want about how good your line is, but we constantly beat good OLs. We sacked Rex Grosmann, Damon Huard and Brad Johnson 3 times each (all play behind good lines.) We sacked Kitna 8 times, I know their line isn't good but 8 sacks is crazy. We sacked Grey 5 times behind the Jax line and we sacked Brady 5 times.

Dude, after eleven pages of this entertaiment I just noticed you are from Washington, so that is why you're on a Redskins website!

Just kidding I know the difference between Washington state and DC. *a spit load of rain* NO, seriously, how come your not a Chawks fan. What did you go through a rebellious phase and just pick the team furthest from your location. Hey, their are all kinds of NFL fans in DC. We have a lot of the "I hate my parrents so I am either going to be gay or a Cowboys fan". We have the Steelers fans that are from north western MD or Pburge, but couldn't get a decent job there. (Same for the Beagles fans - but substitute north eastern side of Md) And of course we have the "Yo, I'm from NYC" bunch who are Gi-aints or Mets fans. And of course you have the Raven Maniacs who just can't except the fact the Mayflower and the Irsays (sp?) ended football in Baltimore and ever since Md has been ALL Redskins territory. But man we don't have many Chawks, Chargers (Yeah, Norv!), or 48er fans. They are just too far away.

When you first started watching football Don Shula was the head coach and Dan Marrino was the QB of the Dolphins, weren't they?

P.S. the only insult was directed at those rebellious kids that chose being a Cowboys fan over being gay (some choices are hard to live with!)

Correct, Marino and Shula were the gods that brought me into loving football. I hate the Seahawks with a dying passion. The fans up here are incredibely fair weather and have recently shown up with the Seahawks success.

The first game I watched in it's entirety was the 1994 divisional game between the Chargers and Dolphins with the infamous hook and ladder play. Miami lost, but what a game. I fell in love with Marino and the Fins and the rest is history.

the teams that you said you had a lot of sacks against didnt have a mobile QB like Campbell. None of them are that good at getting out of the pocket and making something with their feet. Campbell showed us last year that hes capable of escaping pressure IF our line breaks down. so i'm not really worried about the dolphins D-Line

If you're not going to worry about the Dolphins pass rush, you have another thing coming to you. You're not going to worry about the defensive MVP and a guy like Joey Porter coming off the edges? I hope old man Gibbs is thinking about them because if he doesn't Campbell is going down a lot.

Yeah, fans and competitors around the league really fear enemies that wear orange and teal and call themselves 'Dolphins'.

ROTFALMAO Is there anyone, anywhere, intimidated by dolphins? ROTFALMAO

Aquaman, there is one significant factor you fail to realize, so I will, as most of us already have, will clue you in to reality.

I was born and raised in Maryland but currently live in South Florida. Over the past 10 years living in Florida, I have been to more than a dozen games at Pro Player. Miami is much like Phoenix, in that when you go to a home game, more than 50% of the fans root for the other team. That's because most residents in those towns are from somewhere else. There are more Jets and Giants fans down here than Dolfans. Dolphin fans are actually in the minority here. It's pretty funny, actually.

That's not the case in DC, my friend.

If you can remember, the year before last, the Skins went to the second round of the playoffs, Gibbs 2nd year back with the team. Last year was difficult due to a new offense (700 page playbook) numerous injuries to the offense AND the defense and a QB switch mid season.

5-11 was tough to swallow, no doubt, for the fans, players and coaches alike.

That being said, the entire Redskins organization and the fans have a HUGE chip on their shoulders. The coaches have issued them a direct challenge and Skins fans worldwide already know what kind of attitude these players currently have entering this season. The Skins have high caliber players who feel they have something to prove, a deadly combination.

Where is this game being played??? Oh, that's right, at Fed-Ex Field, the largest stadium in the league. There will be more than 91,000 angry and crazed Skins fans ready for battle on opening day.

So forget the players, coaches, schemes... etc. If you think for a minute that the Dolphins are going to come to our house on opening day and just roll over the Skins, you are fooling yourself bigtime. But please, keep thinking that way as reality will come soon enough.

And I can assure you, no fan in Washington is intimidated or scared of a girly dolphin wearing orange and teal. They should just move the team to Key West and change their uniforms to rainbow colors.

ROTFALMAO

I'll bet he has no idea what that means.

I still think the 'skins are going to win (of course), but I give the OP his due for being the sole 'fin fan to come on this board and defend his team. Takes some guts to go against all us 'skins fans. Can't wait for Opening Day to sort all this out!

BnGhog,

I understand those are the only games you can compare both of us against, but it's such a small sample size, you really can't use it effectively.

Yeah there's nothing better than an opposing fan who picks stuff out of thin air about his team and cites it as gospel.

Wow... some of you are easily amused. I'm actually kind of embarassed for you.

Amused? I don't know about that... I just think opposing fans add some fresh air to a stale forum/offseason. Whenever the off season rolls around everyone turns cannibalistic and it'll be nice to go after other funs and talk trash for a change. Everyone can't be as fun as GF.

Besides, it's a boring world when we all agree with each other. Usually, our only debates are by how many points the 'skins will win!

We're not really having a debate though because that would require the opponent to address the points we've made instead of simply choosing the few points he is semi-capable of sort-of refuting

 Aqua Man isn't the captain of the debate team, we know that. It's just a signal of the approaching season. It's here, the fans are here, it's football. I apologize that no opposing fans have arrived thus far that are deemed worthy of your debating skills.

Don't you understand? All the other points he is merely conceding by silence! :D Anyway, we should be nicer to a poster attempting to defend the Dolphins, given the Sisyphean nature of that task!

:celebrate:

... and therein lies the rub.

My only point was that bad dialogue is bad dialogue.

I guess I just didn't see comments like... "I highly doubt you "harpoon" the Fins. The Skins are going to have a tough time scoring on us with basically a rookie QB, an over rated running back, and a Steve Smith wannabe. I'm looking at about 10 maybe 13 points for the Skins, I'm positive the Fins score at least that many"

... as particularly insightful or stimulating.

And then when the hyperbole started reaching magnitudinal levels, no real 'dialogue' came of it when pushed for an answer. All I saw was typical bluster and false bravado and to me there's just nothing original or entertaining in that.

Nor does it qualify to me as good football conversation.

I actually love it when the opposition's fans come here and are insightful, and respectful, and engaging. I'm also pretty bored with the fans that just come to have a pissing contest, and completely ignore anything they choose to.

My 2 cents
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

I watched the Chiefs / Dolphins game last night.

I have to say that the Dolphins starting o-line did not look good. Also, Green looked lost and confused most of the time and did not appear to have any confidence behind that line.

That said, I think our defense could potentially have a real strong showing in the season opener. With our corners and safeties solidifying the secondary, I believe our front seven could make Trent's day miserable. Coach Williams is going to bring pressure from everywhere.

The Dol's do have a decent defense, but they are up there in age. I think our offense will be able to move the ball better against their defense than their offense will against our defense.

Anyway, I really think our defense is going to abuse their o-line and will come out strong in this game.

Playing at KC on the road is no small feat for ANY team. Even the best QBs can play below their level. I mean, look how tough it was for Brunell to play there two years ago, and he's one of the all-time greats!

From what I saw, Green needed a few snaps to get his feet under him, but he looked sharp on his last drive. My 2 cents
Back and better than ever!

Lets not forget we are playing 3 good D's in preseason. Makes good practice for Campbell.
I firmly believe the Patriots are the antichrist.

Aqua4Ever04,

You talk about Taylor and Porter coming after JC, but remember. JC is mobile. Trent Green is not. He better watch out for Laron Landry and Fletcher. Also, who is he going to throw to? He lost his TE, and Chambers will be shut down. He better be careful not to get his receivers kiiled my the Sean Taylor train if he goes over the middle. That leaves him Ronnie Brown in the flats and our LBs or cover the enire field Taylor will take his head off if he gets past the Dline which I must say looked much better the other night.

Skins win 24-6
