Todd Pinkston Signed...

Post by Jake »

Oh Lord!

Wow - Todd Pinkston Signed

Okay, some will look at this as a move of utter desperation, and I can't say I would argue with them. Skins sign Todd Pinkston, who most assumed was out of football for good after no one picked him up last season (cut by Eagles and then also Vikings after brief stint in Minn.). Todd took a lot of abuse for having "alligator arms" and his run ins with The Grim Reaper were well documented.

Some people would say the Redskins have no legit No. 2 WR - again, no argument here - and with the wide receiver out with shin splints (not sure if he'll be practicing today or not) and no one not named Moss showing much Saturday, it can't hurt to look at other people.

This is now the second vet. WR the Skins have brought in in the last few weeks - Corey Bradford - is the other, and even they seem to be admitting that despite all the millions in signing bonus $$$ spent at this position, a need exists. Still, I kinda thought Pinkston was done.

The Skins also signed DT Matthias Askew - a 4th round pick by the Bengals in 2004 who was waived last year - and cut WR Kyle Brown and DT Vaka Manupuna.

MY GAWD!!!!

Aren't the Lions supposedly going to drop one of their failed experiments? Todd is serviceable at best but we need a tall big bodied WR.

Ummm... ok... I guess someone here will enjoy this news.

In all seriousness, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to give him a look-see; but it's definitely a suprising acquisition IMO. Does anyone really think he could impress the coaches enough to get a spot on the roster?

Does this mean there's a chance LaVar gets signed next year?

Well, last I checked Charles Rogers is free, but if he couldn't make New England last year, then we probably don't want him. Mike Williams has already been acquired by the Raiders.

Edit: Detroit currently has former Redskin WR Cliff Russell on their roster, so I guess you could argue they owe us a WR. Send over Calvin Johnson, Detroit! You owe us!

THAT is why this team will consistently be picking at the top of the draft and the eagles will pick at the bottom. We have no GM and no PLAN!!!!

Alligator Arms?

Was he signed for the vet minimum or did we buy him off some big dude for a cigarette?

BL is definitely not 6'4", but he can jump. I doubt anybody other than Mcnabb and Andy Reid can make Pinkston look like much.

Brandon is heading towards unemployement. Fast. Faster than he's running with those ice packs on his shins. How does a pro athlete who's entire job is predicated on running have such a fat guy, never worked out injury? The Skins are looking for someone to take his roster spot - first Bradford now Pinkston. If BL doesn't show up soon, start calling him Short. As in short time til he gets the pink slip.
