How do you plan on watching the game today
So I moved out of my apartment today. I am moving in with the in laws for a few weeks until my house remodel is complete. They have Time Warner Cable which doesn't include NFL Network so I am sitting in an empty apartment, exhausted, and a 1/2 Gallon of Capt. Morgans and a 2 liter of coke.....What are you guys doing?

Well, I put my daughter down just in time to catch the opening kick-off, but wait, what channel is this game on? I live in cenrtal VA and in the past have been able to watch all pre-season games on any or all of the DC cbs, fox and Richmond stations I get. But nothing this night, not even on Comcast. So I look online to see what's up to find it's broadecast on the NFL network, which I don't have. I was bummed.
Then I remembered I will be missing a handful of games this year (not Redskins) because they will be shown on the NFL network. I think having an exclusive channel like this for games is a bad idea, espeacilly when it's not readily available to the general public. I already pay around $50 monthly for my cable. I'm not going pay another $15 or so to upgrade to the next cable package just to get one more channel. Anyone else have a problem with this or am I just a stick in the mud?

I was getting the game on Comcast, but I suppose that I am living closer to DC than you are. I sympathize with you. . .and I also hate those games that I can't catch during the year thanks to the NFL network.

It's free enterprise at its best. The NFL wants to "control" to some extent.
But hey, I remember only having 1 or 2 games per weekend to watch on tv and Monday nights......some 20 years ago. The NFL package has give football fanatics a reason to celebrate.

I guess I'm further from DC than you since the two ABC stations I get didn't have the game on.
No doubt there's some appeal for Direct TV/NFL Ticket, etc when you live out of the area to catch the Redskins. Would do the same if I were in a different part of the world. Just think it's lame that I used to be able to watch all preseason games on the same stations I have now, but wasn't able to as a result of the NFL Network. Hoping last night will be the exception for the year.
