Chris Cooley on DC101

Post by BossHog »

I got a press release today stating that Chris Cooley was going to do the 'Elliot in the Morning' show again this year.

The weekly 'Chris Cooley Report' on DC 101 will air on Monday mornings except when the Redskins have a Monday Night game. When the Redskins play on MNF, Cooley's show will be on Wednesday mornings.

Just passing on the info, but the presser included a HILARIOUS little quip from Elliot that I had to pass on to you all...

"by signing Chris for the upcoming season, what we have done is force (Redskins owner) Dan Snyder's hand. He needs to show Chris some love and sign him up as well. Plus, I would imagine that Snyder will be happy to have something Redskins related on a radio station that people can actually hear."

Ouch.

ROTFALMAO

Funny though.

So Cooley did that show all last year? I don't remember hearing about it.

A little off topic, but why start another thread. Hope this is ok with you, BossHog.

Chris Cooley to Marry Redskins Cheerleader Who Got Fired for Dating Him

Redskins tight end Chris Cooley is engaged to marry Christy Oglevee, a former Redskins cheerleader. And the story of how they met, as told by Mike Wise in today's Washington Post, is quite a tale.

Cooley was dating a different Redskins cheerleader, and she's the one who introduced him to Christy. But then both Christy and the other cheerleader got fired because the Redskins found out that they had dated Cooley. It's a no-no, by team rules, for employees to fraternize with players. (So why didn't they fire Cooley?)

Other interesting news from Wise's article: Christy turned 21 last year (yeah, she's a little younger than him), and to celebrate the occasion, Cooley and Christy's father got together and did 21 shots apiece. Oh, and when Cooley gets together with Christy's family, they do it at strip clubs. It's a rough life when you're an NFL player.

Nicely done Chris. She's a hotty. Plus a Skins fan! Should make re-signing him easier! Wonder what the old cheerleader looked like?

Cooley is my favorite player on the Skins now, but man I hate "Idiot in the Morning". I don't know if I can stomach listening to the Idiot even for a little while to hear Cooley!

I usually listen to the Junkies or Mike & Mike.

Elliot is funny as crap (not is crap). Most people don't like him because of his laugh but you get used to it after a while. You can usually catch conversations and pictures say with Cooley after the show at www.eitmonline.com in case you miss the conversation.

Captain Chaos is now Captain Caged

Post by Irn-Bru »

Sort of. It looks like he's still got a pretty wild lifestyle, at least according to this article:

Attention bachelorettes interested in fraternizing with a certain headbanging NFL tight end who resides west of Leesburg: Captain Chaos is now . . . Captain Caged.

Chris Cooley, the only player in league history to simultaneously put the Dallas Cowboys and Redskinettes in disarray, is marrying the woman who got fired from her job because of him.

Okay, it was a part-time job. And it paid only $75 a week.

"But it'll be a good story to tell our kids one day," Christy Oglevee said.

Maybe we should explain.

Christy is Chris's fiancee. They met two summers ago when a cheerleader Cooley briefly dated brought her fellow Redskinette -- Christy -- over to Chris's house. This was probably not a good idea for two reasons: 1) The Redskins prohibit company employees from fraternizing with players; and 2) Introducing a person you've started dating to your attractive friend can be hazardous.

Confronted with evidence that they indeed had hung out with Cooley, both cheerleaders were told to turn in their halter tops. On Fan Appreciation Day, no less. The scandal ended up on WWDC-FM radio (DC101), and for a while it was unclear whether Cooley was trying to put the entire squad on the unemployment line. The incensed Redskinettes even choreographed a number in which they were going to turn their backs on Cooley at a home game. He got wind of the plan, ran over after scoring a touchdown and tried to give one of the cheerleaders the football. But she wouldn't accept and the ball fell to the ground. Worse, the touchdown was called back.

And you thought Al Saunders had problems.

Rest of the story.

Thanks! now I won't have to listen to Elliot. I grew up in DC with Howard Stern, the Greasman, Don and Mike and for the past 16 of the past 20 years I was stationed in the Norfolk area and had Tommy and the Bull followed by Tommy and Rumble. Let's just say I have been spoiled when it comes to morning shows. And E.I.T.M. is a far cry from any of those shows.

Way to go Cooley with landing the cheerleader. Incentive to stay in Washington I hope. Have to love Cooley. Seems like a similar guy to Riggins. Marriage made in Hog Heaven. I'm in PA so can't comment on "Elliot" but I did get to see Home Team Sports Network when I lived in North Carolina from '93 to '95. When the Panthers came in, I think those affiliates were dropped.

Since Christy is a Skins fan, I hope she told Chris that she'd only marry him if he stays in Washington.

Chris Cooley party animal

Post by Skinsfan55 »

From Rotoworld:

Chris Cooley-TE-Redskins Aug. 9 - 10:00 pm et

On his fiance's 21st birthday, Chris Cooley celebrated by drinking 21 shots of Jim Beam with his future father-in-law. Apiece.
"Oh, we were hurtin'," Cooley said. Chris, his fiance and his fiance's father also attended a strip club together where they played "Hail to the Redskins". We're not sure if we should move Cooley up or down on our cheat sheets based on this news.

On one hand, it's nice to know that professional athletes are superhuman... on the other, that seems like a stupid choice.

Who can drink 21 shots of crappy bourbon in a single sitting?

Who can "fraternize" with multiple cheerleaders in a single season?

He's in his contract year.

He knows his performance this year will dictate the size of his new contract.

Saunders loves to use the TE in his scheme.

Cooley is one of the best receiving TE's in the game and was in college.

We've already seen them line Cooley up at TE, FB and WR.

:-k We're going to see a spectacular year from Cooley.

Good points SkinsFreak - I also am looking for this guy to have a huge year on the field as a player - I also hope that he knows that his behaviour off the field is also a factor in showing his coaches that he is maturing as a person as well.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

where does the insight come from that projects this as Snyder's personna??...I've never heard of anyone close enough to him ..say
that is Danno's personality..

I know for a fact that an e-mail simply disagreeing with.."Mr Tony" when he was on 980..got your IP prevented from interacting..to me that is silly infantile behavior that is documented..
speed that tackles and Captain Chaos..will lead us to the promised land
