But MASN is the official cable station of the Ravens -- it was never going to be two-sided coverage.

this is the dumbest thing ive ever watched in my life. The only thing i've learned from this is that the ravens have way more depth than the skins. And i could have told you that beforehand. Put Campbell in. This shouldn't even be televised.

Well, for those of us not in the DC metro - what's awful? The Skins look awful? Or are you guys not happy with the format or the coverage of the scrimmage? Little help here for the out of towners.

The starters weren't in and it was badly played on the skins part. There was one nice pass, that was about it. The 7 on 7 was the only even slightly exciting part.

I'm currently in my girlfriends car typing this. The scrimmage was underwhelming. the SKind played with little enthusiasm and none of the first team hardly played. JC didn't even play in the 11 vs 11.

Brunell, Casey and Palmer sucked.
Llloyd had ice on his calfs and I don't think he made one catch.
Westbrook my have killed his chance to make the team.

The ravens went up and down the field on us. I know people will say Gibbs is super secretive and blah blah blah... it sucked.

Only the defense looked halfway decent.

Campbell was kinda decent looking in the 7 on 7.

I will say that I'm tired of this team playing like sissies and using Gibbs secrets as an excuse. it screwed the team last year and will agan. hopefully they'll come out amped up in the preseason.

Sounds like you are preparing your platform for a run at the presidency of the "The Sky Is Falling" Society.

Personally, I have no idea why the 'Skins participate in this. It's the same thing every year. The Raisins come with a plan, the 'Skins don't.

You probally said the same thing last year before we lost all our preseason games. Gibbs is just secretive and that lax attitude will dissapear...lol...sure...

Gibbs was the one on the radio talking about how he was planning for the Ravens. He made it sound like it was going to be a nice battle. You can make it sound like I'm crazy but the lack of enthusiasm from the team was apparentl to me. it was that same lax mood tha got us off to a slow start.

I'm mostly pissed we sweltered out there and didn't get to see JC.

Campbell looked great when he was playing 7on7. I noticed he threw to Thrash alot and Trash looked good. I didn't see Loyd out there that much, it was normally Moss, Randle El, and Thrash. Defense was hard to tell, Smoot had a interception, but that was about it. I thought Collins looked better on the Field then Brunnell. I thought Brunnell looked ugly. We had great seats like always at the Scrimmage game. We were on the 40 on the Redskins side on the very first Row. You gotta love that!

I did. :D It's also true that, even if the Redskins had a winning season under Gibbs, the still lost most of their preseason games, often all of them. I just learned to avoid judging the team's potential based upon the preaseason. In fact, I don't do it at all... I'll be neither disappointed nor thrilled as a result of pre-season football.

I'm mostly pissed we sweltered out there and didn't get to see JC.

Hence, my second comment. He seems to have no plan or agenda for these scrimmages, and appears to be disinterested in using them to learn much.

On the other hand, you have been at this long enough to know that you are not likely to see much of the team's foundation until later in pre-season. Being aware of that, why would you be pissed? It's just how it is.

So, why play these scrimmages at all?

Is it too much to ask for 8 passes from JC on the 11 on 11? that's all I needed. but what I got was a terrible brunell and a excessive amount of dinks and dunks. excessive.

the teams demeanor overall was too lax.

Go Smoot! his INT was sick!

the best part of the scrimmage were my THN family.

Watching the scrimmage on TV, the D looked good against the run but poor against the pass. In the 11-on-11 part, Palmer had the only highlight of the day with a nice TD pass.

In 7-on-7, we were great at dump-off passes but not much else. Campbell locked on the receiver from the snap at least once and that was a little concerning. Brunell didn't look comfortable and Collins didn't look good either.

Basically, I hope we look better in preseason.

BTW, I'm usually an optimist but the scrimmage has me a little concerned.

I think we also kicked off out of bounds and had a shank or two from Frost.

On a brighter note, the defense swarmed to the ball.

I watched the one-on-one drills - the other stuff is worthless in the first scrimmage...if you want to see enthusiasm there it is...our guys did well and hustled the whole play. It may be a cliche but it all starts in the trenches...Learn the basics fellas - don't always be looking for the flashy stuff...

Next year JG should give the 1st team a break, send backups along with asst. coaches. Then him and the starters could take a break. Don't want to show to much in preseason. :D

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Same stuff from last season. We'll just flick the switch on before the games.

Sadly, it's been reported that this camp has been no different than last years. I hope and pray that they up the intensity. Not to mention that our NFC East brethern have double the two a days we have.

Right, why perfect practice when it doesn't count? Let's wait until we're 1 game from mathematical elimantion to turn up the intensity.

Lets just all settle down and not get excited here. This is the first piece of action that the Redskins have had against anybody since when Dec.?Guys are rusty folks we haven't even had a preseason game. So this is not time to panic.

Nice picture, Terri -- wish I could have been there (er, well, maybe not. . .given the description of how the Skins looked.)
