Remember Zak Keasey

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Remember Zak Keasey

Remember linebacker Zak Keasey ?

He was here a few years back and nearly stuck as an undrafted rookie free agent. When he left Washington, he got converted to a fullback.... pretty neat story actually...

SANTA CLARA — Linebacker-turned-fullback Zak Keasey never thought he'd be carrying the ball for the 49ers as much as he has been the past couple of days in training camp.

But injuries have depleted the 49ers running back corps. Frank Gore remains out with a broken right hand. Michael Robinson was held out of practice for a second consecutive day Thursday after suffering from dehydration, and fullback Moran Norris suffered a lip laceration that requires him to wear special padding over his mouth when he plays.

Keasey has stepped in to help the 49ers get through their practices, even taking some snaps at halfback and in some single-back formations. In the process, he appears to be helping himself as well, impressing coach Mike Nolan with his rugged play.

Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

thats hilarious. One of my favorite NC State LB'rs named Oliver Hoyte is a FB for Dallas. They drafted him for that purpose. He could have made it as a LB'r with someone else I believe but I see a trend happening due to many college teams not utilizing the FB position like they have in years past.
