JUST A STATEMENT!!!!!!!!

Post by redskinz4ever »

:?: i'am dead set on a d-line draft choice.before i said harris and smith what about vince wilfork from the hurricanes at 6'5" and 345 lbs. only seen him play in a few games looked pretty damn awesome to me.anthony bryant from alabama at 6'3" and 345lbs.did not see him at all,i need some information on him.just like i said before our d-line might have made some improvements in free agent signings but still very worried about being able to stop the run and also get after the q.b.with out a blitz from other postions.i know that everyone eles in redskin nation loves taylor and i understand that he is one heck of a football player.so i guess i will just have to wait and see come draft day.REDSKINZ4EVER!!!

I asked Coach Coker about that specifically- he said that the Skins were interested in Taylor and Winslow in the coversations he's had with the club. "Those two guys..." Meaning that Wilfork wasn't being considered - at least with the #5 overall.

DLine is deffinatley a NEED, but with the #5 overall pick we have the chance to get a PLAYMAKER. You can't go wrong with drafting either Winslow or Taylor.

Remember, we have Greg Williams as our D Coordinator. Can you name a Bufalo D lineman (maybe Sam Adams, but he just came in to help last season). The thing with the Bufalo defense last year was it was not a single flashy player. It was similar to the Patriots.
Takeo Spikes, Adams, Winfield...they all shared the spotlight.
Lavar, Griffen, and Smoot will do the same.

Williams will use schemes to make this defense fast and it will focus on our positives (Linebackers).

I am sure we can get a big fat DLineman after June 1st, then address the line in the 2005 draft.

In 2005 we (let's hope!) wont' have the #5 overall pick...so while we have it we should take advantage of it. Cause with Gibbs here it will be a long time before we pick that early again :)

You and I are speaking the same language. I have been singing Wilforks praise for weeks now. I would like to see us trade down a few spots to pick him up.

Your best hope is that Roethlisberger falls to #5 and a team like Pittsburgh wants to leapfrog Cleveland. Would probably net you better resutlts.

I just think you guys would be better off with Wilfork/Harris/Smith AND Troupe/Watson than just Winslow.
This space reserved for BTP......If he ever wins it.

Anything could happen - but I'd take Taylor and not think twice about it. He and Winslow are roughly the same size. Taylor will know snot bubbles out of Keyshawn... and I'll rewind it and watch it in super-slow-mo for hours on end!

Curve, Evilhog, I agree as well. I would much rather several solid contributors than 1 potential superstar. And I don't think I need to remind anyone that:

A...Taylor showed up chunky, didn't perform all that well, and had an attitude about it later --- not something Gibbs will stand for.

B...Winslow --- Has potential to be either a locker room grenade or a general...very chancy.

I wish everyone would stop talking about that one incident. Personally Its good to see someone get anygry after a loss or when they perfom a little bad because a lot of players on our team didnt seem to care much last year. I am not saying winslow didnt act crazy but that was the only time. Other than that he has made many clutch plays and brings a lot of heart

Also, don't forget we've got Noble coming back. We signed Salave'a, Holsey is still on the roster and Norman Hand is floating around out there - I think he'd solve the run-stuffer problem. Also, I think Daryl Gardener could help us...

has anyone expressed any interest in Gardener?

on the topic, I would consider Winslow a wasted pick and believe we need the defensive help...either take Taylor (my preference), a playmaker for years to come or trade down and stock up on the DL
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

I hope we draft Sean Taylor. Look at what Roy Williams has done for Dallas's D. According to a Cowboy fan I know and from what I've read, the Cowboys had a mediocore D-line last year. Their DE Ekuban was a bust; however, they still had the #1 ranked defense last year. I also notice that all the Cowboy fans that come here telling us who we should draft never mention Sean Taylor. You know why? Because they know he's dangerous and they don't want to face him. It's just like when I go to Dallas message boards and give praise to Quincy Carter. I do that because I know he sucks, but I want Dallas to keep him as their QB because it benefits us  . Dallas fans are praying that we don't get Sean Taylor. I visit the Eagles, Giants, and Cowboy message boards sometimes and I've seen messages such as "I hope those Deadskins don't draft Taylor" etc, etc. I agree with oafusp. Hopefully we won't suck again. This could be our last high #1 draft pick. Let's get a playmaker. Draft Sean Taylor!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8)
Let us all gather around and drink the Cooley-Aid of the Redskins.
