So, I'm sure those of you that live around D.C. and listen to DC101 have heard this idiot Kevin McCarthy call in to Elliot in the Morning just about every day. Right?
He's the guy that claims to be the Redskins #1 fan ...mmm... merely because he sports a bunch of tattoos and wears custom Redskins apparel. Right. From what I've heard, his knowledge of Redskins history is about the equivalent of a 5 year old (and no, not a Jackson-type 5 year old... ).
Anyway, this moron showed up in the Washinton Post the other day, and for those of you that haven't seen him, here ya go.
I don't profess to knowing the complete history of the team, but I do know that my fanfare (and most other members here) at the very least equals this guy's. For those of you that might listen to EITM, please tell me you've heard this guy call in. I keep waiting for a more knowledgable fan to call in and claim that they are the #1 fan. Bravo to this guy for being hooked on the Redskins (I think most of us are), but really? #1 Fan? Isn't there anyone willing to dispute this title with Mr. McCarthy? Or do we just not care?
Fans come in all shapes, colours, sizes and degrees of knowledge. Any number of tattoos do not impress me when I form an opinion about a fan, knowledge does.
I do not know the guy or his knowledge about the Skins. But if he is only "show", he deserves to be sent to a freak show instead of the VIP section at Training Camp.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Yeah, I agree. The fact that I now have 6 Redskins related tattoos now makes me no better or worse of a fan than anyone else. Now, if the guy had a pimped out truck and harley....we'd be talking!

I saw him at camp on Friday, didn't see him yesterday, he was way more interested in showing people the tats than anything else that was happening. I will give him this, as far as Redskins tats go, those are impressive.
What a gay thread to start! Everyone considers themselves in their own way to be the #1 fan....Don't hate on the guy just cus he loves the Skins...My mom loves the Skins and you think she knows what a pulling guard is? Don't be so critical!
But for those of you seeking a brush up on the history of our team....check out wikipedia....
Strength, though vital, must always be at the servitude of wisdom!
I listen to Elliot in the Morning all the time and listen to him call in. I don't care if he proclaims being the number one fan but he sure does give me a lot to laugh about on that show. I'm cracking up with every interview he gives.

If i think of the number one Redskin fan I think of the Cheif hes been a skins fans prolly before this guy was born, and Im glad the organization lets him on the field some games and recognizes him as a great fan, and anyone who has the balls to go to philly dresses like that, is gonna be up there!
I can tell you that the PLAYERS that I was standing beside when they saw him just thought he was a bit of an idiot.
Of course, his demeanor was as responsible for that as his tattoos were.
We also heard him bold-face lying to people and telling them that they HAD TO have a Redskin invitation printed off to get into camp, but not to worry, that he would get them in.
You don't... and he didn't.
Anyone that has to try and assert themselves that much, is usually trying to convince THEMSELVES of something.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

you know your a real fan for a couple of reason. You are a true fan if you had a constant smile on your face for the whole week when we came back and beat Dallas in week 2 last year. You are a true fan if you take every single play as if it was 4th and 1 on superbowl sunday. I get so pumped for every game and every play I cant even sit down and watch the game. Also I will have to say that Redskins fans take there first downs more seriously than any other team in the leauge. Mabey because there so hard to come by but let me tell ya that Fed Ex rocks whenever we get a first down.
Some of the Hoggettes are top in my list because of all the CHARITY work that they do as Redskins fans.
However, the truth is that the more knowledgeable a fan is the higher my respect for him/her is, regardless of age, gender, religion, political persuasion or other.
