Trade picks with the PATS?
HI,
New poster, lived in both NE and DC suburbs, and fan of both teams. I read in the Boston Globe that NE and Detroit had an agreement to trade Lion's 6th pick for both NE 1st round picks and 2nd round pick and swap 4th round picks (NE would move up 8 spots in that round). This was reportedly contingent on Sean Taylor still being available. Do you think the skins ought to trade their 5th pick for both NE 1st round picks and their 2nd?

Here's the link. I don't particularly like this trade because I think its less likely we get an impact player on defense with those first rounders. All the top d-line prospects we've been talking about will be gone, as will Taylor and Winslow. We'd be trading quality for quantity.
I could live with trading down to say the 10-12 range from 5 but not down to the 20s and 30s.

No way this would be great for us... Starks should still be there at 21rst pick... or we could also trade back up for those two 1rst rounders... and still nab harris, wilfork, or smith and still get a 2nd out of the whole deal...
Now we just have to come up with a 4th rounder for the Pats some how...
hmmm

Oopsies! What's that taste like?

Why? They either make the trade, or we take Taylor. If they want him that badly, they'll do it without the 4th round pick.

NE is desparate for a RB, how about we trade the #5 and Trung for the two number 1 picks and the 2nd rounder. There is a chance a smith or Wilfork will drop and worse case you get Starks which would plug nicely and another two solid players. This is a very deep draft and would love to have 3 picks in the top 60.
Why throw in Trung? If the Lions are getting two 1s, a 2 and 4 for the Sixth pick plus a four, the Skins would be able to get the 1s and the 2 for the Fifth pick. The teams are swapping their fours, meaning NE goes up 8 spots in that round.
Besides, Trung doesn't really fit what NE does. I doubt they'd want him.

Let us all gather around and drink the
