SportsLine - Mock Draft

5. Washington, Tommie Harris, DT, Oklahoma: Joe Gibbs is no dummy. Harris has shot up the board lately because of favorable Pro Day results. He can blow up the line on any given play.

Kenechi (or however you spell it) is a great player and a nice guy. I live her in Los Angeles and a girl i work with dated him for a bit this year. He's huge. Anyways, he's going to be a great player for whoever gets him. They talk about him all the time on the news and they expect him to go the 1st time.

from what i've been hearing about greg williams, he likes to stuff the run, and then use 'backers to blitz teh qb. so, as much as i would love to have taylor, harris seems very plausible.

our d-line is an improvement on last years.... with Daniels,Griffen,Upshaw,Wynn and the number of back-up's we have and will probably get more... williams will be able to do more with these guys than most of us think... i believe will be surprised.

If we take Harris in the draft, it would improve our line even more... but i think drafting Taylor would better our Defense overall... It's hard to find impact safety's and I bet we can get some decent D - lineman with our 5th or 6th rounder or after June 1

if taylor hits as hard as they say, running backs won't WANT to get past the 'backers!

they are building an anti run DL from what I am seeing right now

They may add a pash rusher, but if they don't my gut leads me to believe that we are going to see some serious blitzes from the LB position and maybe seeing LA and Washington in the DE position and Daniels and Griffin or Wynn on the inside

They won't want to get past the DL with Arrington, Washington and Mitchell/whoever coming at them full steam ::grin::

I've got a few minor things to add...

---1. I'm not too sure what you have against some of our d-lineman, but our defensive front four is solid. I would say middle of the pack. If we were to start the season right now, we would have Reagan Upshaw on one side with Phillip Daniels and Cornelius Griffin in the middle, and Renaldo Wynn on the other side. Note that both Wynn and Daniels can play either tackle or end, and have done so a lot in the past two seasons.

Also remember that Brandon Noble is expected back this season, and was parcticipating in most drills at mini camp. I'm not sure how good he'll be, but before the injury, he was a fairly elite run stopper. That is a RESPECTABLE front four at minimum, and their are is a lot of versatillity to boot.

---2. That's not the line we're going to enter the season with, because we are bound to add a little more depth in the draft, or after March 1st. Anyone who has paid attention to Gregg Williams over the years can valge for me when I say that, he is going to need depth at d-line to make his front four work. In his first press conference, he said that "There will be 7 or 8 guys that see the field a lot on our defensive line, because my job is to make sure are first unit is fresh when we need them to make some big stops late in games." That's music to my ears, because that was one of our primary problems last season. I said all this to say, we are going to get a few more body's for rotation purposes, when and who are the only questions.

---3. Joe Gibbs said that "There was more talent than production on the defensive front last season." Meaning they could have been better, but the coaching staff might have held them back. Williams should help are holdover vets (Wynn, Upshaw, and company) to have a better year than they did last season.

-And I'm Spent... Geepz

I don't really have any thing against our d-line personnally but our d-line did not produce a steady pass rush and did not stop the run.also being a linebacker friendly defense which we will have this year we need a stud DE or DT.to free up lavar and company to make some big time plays.REDSKINZ4EVER!!!

Middle of the pack????? LA Nation, with our line right now we are not "middle of the pack", we are BOTTOM of the pack. Please name 5 teams with a worse DL than ours. Upshaw/Wynn are terrible, they were let go by teams that were tired of having a terrible DL - and we pick them up! The same goes for Daniels too - who cares if he can play both spots on the DL, he's average-to-terrible at both!

Noble? the cowboys didn't seem to have too much of a problem letting him go.

Our guys are backups, only griffin would even make a team with a decent defense.

we need DL help.
No matter what they say, it's never large enough!
