I wouldn't expect anything from Taylor until the season starts, and it wouldn't surprise me if we didn't hear anything about either player until this fall. There is a long season ahead of us, and even if the year runs out and they are UFAs, not all is lost.

Two high quality homegrown players and favorites at that. I think the way Snyder approaches their contracts is going to tell us a lot.
These are core players who should be resigned early and paid well.

There is no such thing save one exception D. Green. After having purchased Champs, LaVar, Smoot, and even AP's jersey the past few years ( I also bought ST's #36 only to have him change it) I am only buying retro jerseys now. #66, #81, maybe #72 guys who helped create the great 'Skins traditions. In this age of win now there are no lifers anymore.

This is depresing. Sad but True. A lot of it is to Coaching I think. When a new coach comes in (like when Gibbs came)weather it GW or AL or someone new, that is what will make the difference. GW or AS becomes head coach we may a higher chance they stay. I think while under Gibbs, He will push hard to keep these guys. That's not to say his pushing will work.
I firmly believe the Patriots are the antichrist.

Jansen is also a safe bet. Even if he does play his last year somewhere else, his name will only ever be associated with the Skins. (How many Unitas-jersey owning fans complain that he played in San Diego, for example?)
In general, though, you are right. In this era of free agency you'd be lucky to have a jersey of a guy who stuck around for more than 5 or 6 years.

Redskins want to signey long-term
Chrisey - TE - WAS - Jun. 5 - 8:49 am et
The Redskins have reportedly made re-signing Chrisey a priority this offseason, although no negotiations have taken place.
Washington has $5.1 million in cap room to sign their rookies, so they may need to make some other roster moves before signingey long-term. He's entering the final year of his contract and could be the number two tight end in fantasy football with a full season of Jason Campbell at QB.
