6. Washington Redskins

Just because the Redskins were near silent on draft day does not mean it's been a quiet off-season in Washington. London Fletcher-Baker was brought in from Buffalo, Jason Fabini from Dallas, Fred Smoot from the Vikes, and first-round pick LaRon Landry is expected to start alongside Sean Taylor at safety. The Adam Archuletta experiment was aborted one year into its existence with a trade to Chicago as well.

But for all the activity this off-season, Daniel Snyder and Joe Gibbs were still relatively quiet compared to the last few years. Signing Culpepper would be a curious move, but one not too far-fetched for this team. Jason Campbell's the starter, Mark Brunell's still in the mix, and 2007 sixth-round pick Jordan Palmer should be on the opening day roster too. If there's any doubts as to whether Brunell's still got it, Culpepper could make for a valuable veteran addition.

Odds: It's a reach — but Snyder may want to make a big splash.

Did we cut Todd Collins????? Not that there is any chance that he could start, he just wasn't mentioned above.

AA was a pretty expensive "experiment"

This guy was a highway robbery, he came down from St. Louis took a huge chunk of cash and left without any production, I want to be AA!

No, just the kind of has-been we want to avoid. We don't have a situation right for him as we have our QB of the future, a vet backup, and a youngster.
Culpepper is a guy who can start late this year or take over next.

I think Green Bay may be the perfect spot for Culpepper. Favre starts his last season, breaks all kinds of records and the next year they have a recuperated Culpepper. Houston or Jacksonville should consider him too, especially the latter. Kansas City should even consider it a swap in the event Croyle and Huard don't impress. Ravens may want him after McNair is done.

I don't see where the Redskins have any need for Culpepper. As Hamburgerhelper pointed out, we have a starter, 2 vet back-ups actually and projects for the future, Bramlet (?Sp) or Palmer.

Cullpepper is leaps and bounds above Trent Green. Miami is foolish for only giving him one year. Cullpepper is basically an older Jamarcus Russell, he can throw about 70-80 yards and can scramble. Once Culpepper is healthy he will be good to go.

I dont think we need a distraction by signing him though. I believe in Campbell and want to give him a chance to shine.

I said it before, Culpepper is a bum.

I said Vick is a bum.

Neither has done jack worth mentioning and probally won't.

Mike Vick is a RB with an exceptional arm.
Daunte had Moss to throw too and ever since Moss left he's been dookie.

Boo-urns to the both of them. JC is a beast and will be better than both. Sippin on the cooool aid.

Dude Culpepper........no way........we need to get rid of Never was Todd Collins and develop our own young QBs Palmer and Bramlet.........either of those guys has ore upside then broken down culpepper or tired clipboard blister washed up never was Todd Collins!

Moss Made Culpepper look good.

I never failed, if he got into trouble throw to Moss. 1st down nothing, 2nd down nothing, 3rd down, put it up in the air for Moss He'll come down with it. and It worked. The real bad thing about it, is that was the coaches plan also. :lol:

Maybe he should play for Detroit, He could do the same thing with Calvin Johnson.

Culpepper was a stud before he got hurt. Now I'm not saying that he will EVER recover fully from the injury, or that he would look good in the burgundy and gold, but to just dismiss him as 'trash' so easily is just pure bluster IMO.

To say that it was all Moss is just pure hog wash... NEITHER has done anything since they split up.

IF Culpepper can ever recover from his injury, somebody's going to get themselves a helluva deal on a helluva QB.... but I concede that it's a pretty big 'if'. My 2 cents

I was really surprised last week when Chris Meyers (The Drive on Fox) mentioned the Redskins as a possible landing place for Culpepper. I wasn't in the car long enough to catch his reasoning. So I couldn't figure if that was realistic or just another free agent throwing the Skins name around.

I'd take Culpepper if it meant we could cut Brunell.

I couldn't agree more with giving Todd Collins the old heave ho. This guy should be coaching (or selling cars) as it was very evident last preseason that his playing days were over or it never began, ala, Never Was as Californiaskin so aptly put it.

Cullpepper should rehab for the next six months and take a back seat for some team but I don't think the Skins are it. Getting him last year and putting him on IR to fully recover may have been the deal, but that opportunity's gone and we have a presumably much improved Jason Campbell who should get his chance. I think the Dolphins rushed Culpepper back way too soon and paid the price. He's too big of a guy to run around on a bum knee. I don't see him ever getting back to his old form. I don't care if he can throw it 100 yards. That's a real shame because he had mucho talent.

that said I think the Bears should, or houston, or maybe oakland (to giv JMR time), I don't see GB as they should show confidence in rodgers. I think the Bears would be best, CPepp could sit this year out and recover on chi's sideline and let them throw their lives down the drain with rex's last chance year, then 2008 is cpepp's time again.
