I think all 4 teams are about the same here. Shockey's over-rated, ey's underrated.

QB: Other than McNabb, there's nobody I'd rather have than Campbell. His arms as good as Manning, and Manning's noggin necessitates questions. I think Romo's going to prove he can't handle the heat when it comes on.

DL:
Again, Philthy's better than we are. But who else? Dallas' guys are all hyped and don't perform. The Gints have an old DE, a young one and a bunch of scrubs. We don't have much, but we're not that far behind...

LBs:
Can't figure out if Philthy has talent there, but we do. This is prolly the position Dullas is strongest at. Gints suck.

DBs:
Philthy's pretty strong, I actually saw that Considine play in college and he was pretty sweet. That said, we're deeper than Dullus, better than the Gints.

Considine stinks in the NFL, however. He's a definate weak link in that secondary, which otherwise is quite good.

I can go along with most of it but the skins are not as good as dallas or the giants wide receiver wise. If we aren't first DB wise by now I don't know who else we would have to bring in. I feel good about the secondary. You didn't mention rb's where we are by far the strongest. Our O-line is as good as anyone's, although Dock being gone hurts a bit. Our D-line is probably the worst in the league.

Philly's Oline is the best?...do you notice how much pressure they get from the outside on the qb's...plus we allowed fewer sacks with I think a better rushing game considering everybody we played was mainly looking for the run

WR...Sorry i have to disagree again...I believe we are last in this unfortunately...we have no true number 2, a number 1 that gets double teamed non stop...good out of the backfield and to cooley...

Philly is actually underrated in this category by most people, with a healthy McNabb, they had one of the best passing games in the league (also wasn't bad under Garcia),

Dallas has a true number 1 and number 2 with a good TE and backfield recieving,

and the Giants have not really a true number one, but they have a great TE and 2 great number 2's...plus they just picked up Steve Smith (USC)

also, dline? we're up there? did you watch any of last season ...plus the giants have a pretty decent oline with a "old" DE that can still play...they have younger guys with a lot of quickness

I'm not that good at being able to determine who is good or better at any position or whose secondary or offensive group is superior - I do know one thing, the team that wins the NFC East will play together better than the other teams.
Predicting winners and losers in the NFL is not based on better players at certain positions - on any given Sunday any team in the NFL can win a game just because there are so many other factors that determine outcomes over the players' abilities and talents.

Miami would lose 99 out of a 100 games in Chicago BUT last year they went there and won - Indianapolis should not lose 2 games in a row when Manning throws for over 300 yards and then loses to the Texans - but they did

We looked really solid at the begining of camp last year - however, we did not look like the same team on the field as we did "on paper" - it all comes down to how the guys play together and the coaches utilizing the team concept to put the players in the position that enables the team to win.

IMO we have as good a chance at winning the NFC East as any of the others but i believe we have the better coaches and that gives us the edge

I `m sure we`ll be better this year but all those other variables will influence who finishes where in this division. Coaching, key play calls , injuries , morale - the whole mix will determine where we finish. Right now I`d say we`ll be fighting for a play-off place come December.

While I respect McNabb as a QB, he's become injury-prone, and now this whole thing about him feeling slighted by the Eagles has me thinking we could have the edge at QB this year. Assuming all the glowing reports about Campbell this offseason are true (and I think they are), it's quite possible JC will be the best QB in the division by the time the regular season is done.

Giants have great DEs, possibly the best in the league. But their DTs are horrendous. I mean...I'd take ours over theirs, and I thought our DTs were by far the weakest position on our horrific defense.

Eagles D-line is better than ours. They're strong where it matters; offensive and defensive line. It's probably why they've been so successful over the years.

Well...we allowed less sacks, if you just look at the Skins only gave up 19 sacks while the Eagles o-line gave up 28, but you have to look at things beyond skin deep.

The Skins ran the ball a lot...meaning teams loaded up to stop the run. It's tougher to passrush against a team like that, since you need to keep an eye on their commitment to run.

On the other hand, you have the Eagles, who hate to run the ball. When McNabb was in, defenses just teed off on him since they knew Reid had no intent on running the ball. In their first 10 games, they were sacked 21 times.

Once Garcia started for them, and the Eagles decided to run a balanced offense and actually commit to running the ball, they only gave up 7 sacks in the last 6 games.

That's pretty damn good.

All show promise. Donovan is the best. Romo showed that he's pretty decent. Manning is in limbo and can go either way at this point. JC shows a lot of promise but more needs to be seen.

Philly>Wash (possibly)>Dal > Giants (could change with draft picks)

We showed flashes last year. I think that we will be pleasantly surprised once the season starts. There is something to be said about a team gaining health. I really wish Springs could be there but I understand why he isn't. Get the new guys molded around the core (sorry, I had to use the word) group of guys and just work hard. If we can stay healthy we will be vastly improved. I can't imagine that GW's defense will be ranked in the second half of the league. He's shown that he is better than that in his career. I can't imagine it.

We can beat the Eagles...

Eagles season hinges on McNabb's health and even if he recovers, he won't be the same. He will be more one-dimensional, not running so much. I think the Eagles are on the decline. McNabb carried them last year and they luckily had a highly motivated Jeff Garcia to carry them into the playoffs. McNabb is done IMHO and Garcia is gone. Eagles are backpedalling.

We can beat the Giants...

Giants without Tiki Barber will be less of a problem for us and may give us enough leverage to beat them twice this year. Tiki is special and hurt us badly. Without him, they're a different team and we can run blitz more often or beef up in coverages.

We can beat the Cowboys, if...

The Cowboys have the talent to win the NFC East but I'm not sure how the new coaches and system will affect them. There will be some impact in the continuity and desire to please the new coaches versus Parcells but they are loaded on both sides of the ball. Without Parcells, they're not as scary to me.

Still, for us to beat them we had better block DeMarcus Ware this year off the edge and getting Tyler Ecker, a good blocking TE, may help. Did you see Christian Fauria try to block him at FedEx last year? Terrible. Maybe we should bring back Don Warren. We should also run right at him. Our safeties have to make Terrell Owens and Patrick Crayton not want to catch the ball or know there will dire consequences if they do. Tony Romo looks awefully good at times but he can get confused. We need to show him a lot of different defensive packages and rattle him with CB blitzes off the edge. He may also warrant a "spy" when he leaves the pocket because he's very quick. I'm hoping our new strong safety will bring it to 'Boys.

Cowboys, this year are the team to beat. For us, these games are always big so I like our chances for them to underestimate us.

I can't believe you'd put that. The Giants don't even have a LT anymore; they're moving an average guard (David Diehl) to play LT. I don't know if I can think of a situation where someone goes G->LT.

Imho, their offensive line is the weakest in the NFC East.

The Redskins will beat them all. And win the NFC East.

The stats don't mean much. The evaluations of individual players don't mean much. The matchups and comparisons don't mean much.

The Redskins will have superior toughness. Joe Gibbs demands it. He softly, with self-deprecation, told us last season that the team had gotten too far away from "Redskin football". Then he taught some offense to Al Saunders, and the Redskins running game began to beat down every team they faced.

It will continue.

No way we win NFC east, but very good shot at second. Either Philly or Dal will beat us out, everyone forgets that DAL was in the playoffs, and shouldn't have lost to the chawks. plus philly is solid on both sides, with experienced winners.

Both teams have stronger reason to think they will be in the playoffs than we do.
