I agree - I hope that those that are still doing it get caught - if you are lucky enough to be a part of the NFL and you risk your future and hurt your team, you are making it obvious that neither means very much to you. I hope they ban these guys for a year - anybody they can catch doing drugs deserves everything Goodell can come down with.
I wanted to ask you doesn't Ricky Williams have some type of social disorder and thats why he smokes pot?
Ricky Williams, I like the guy even if he tokes it up everyday. The dude has accomplished more than most on this forum so the personal attacks are pretty offbase. Say what you will about the NFL laws, but just b/c the dude smokes some weed doesn't make him a bad person.
Also, I would much prefer smoking a natural substance than ingesting synthetic compounds concocted by profit driven pharm companies for a disorder if it helped, which he claims it does.
There is a hell of a lot bigger issues in society these days than someone smoking some weed.

I think you're right jr and I really think this guy needs help - IMO something needs to be set up for him to be able to lead a decent quality life - that being said, anybody who thinks the NFL should tolerate any form of substance abuse including "a few beers" at the risk of both their team and themselves are totally off base, IMO - the NFL has made it pretty clear that it only wants to have players who respect the game.
Any player who decides that their "choices" are more important than their team, themselves or their families should be kicked out of the NFL
I am looking forward to all these guys who think they are bigger than the game finding out that the NFL will not tolerate that behaviour - we can not afford a situation like a NY Yankee recently said about "steroids in baseball" - that is not going to happen in this league!
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Marijuana isn't legal.
Xanex is and it has far better efficacy at anxiety treatment.

I was just wondering if it would be at all "helpful" to someone like Williams who really is not interested in the medical benefits - this guy needs a lot of help and hopefully will not get any further "opportunities from the NFL after all the chances he has had and how he has let his team down

True, but my criticism of Williams is that he's a stupid idiot, not that he's smoking dope. Illegal though it is, I agree that it isn't the greatest evil facing the planet right now. But, this is somebody who wants the career and the riches that it brings, and doesn't have the brains to abide by the rules that apply? On multiple occasions, he has transgressed.
Bad person? No, not on this evidence. Total prat? Yes, undeniably.
I agree with the NFL drug policy, just like any employer they can set guidlines for their employees to follow. If the rules are broken repetively as RW has done then I agree with expulsion, suspension or whatever.
But the personal attacks against the man I do not agree with. Ricky obviously feels like the way Cannabis makes him feel is more important than football, which is OK. There is more to life than running a football back and forth across a field and maybe Ricky puts more priority on his "spiritual" well being than being a black sheep in the NFL. The thing about "letting his teammates down" is BS, RW was ostracized from the Dolphins long ago. Did he let down fans of his who want to see him run the ball, yes but somehow I do not think pleasing fans is high on his priority list and that is OK, he is not beholden to fans.
