Post by redskins_89 »

What if the redskins signed keyshawn johnson

would it be good or would it be not

I think it would be good since he would be our tall reciever! :D

He's getting old and slow and I think his virtical last year in the end zone was only 3 inchs. Good thing he is tall.

He was a puke, and replaced by TO who is getting older and slower, to go to Carolina to be replaced by WHO? Oh yeh we haven't heard yeat, some no name bet him out of his job this time. I think pass.

We'd be better off with Landry playing WR.

We could move Randle-El to QB and Jason to wideout and our problems are solved.

No need to bring in someone to learn that 8 million page play book when we have people on the team that know it and can simply change postions.

Landry should learn to play safety first, then we can move him to RB

So he's an idiot. So what? He blocks and catches 1st downs. For the right price he would only help the Skins. We already have a #1 receiver and a proven slot. We are missing a bona-fide possession receiver. B.Lloyd has not yet proven he can be that #2. Keyshawn caught 70 balls last year and is known for his effort blocking. He may be the most conceited possession receiver in the history of the NFL but he does give it his all on the field. If we could sign him to an appropriate contract I think he would be worth it.

I can't believe I am saying this. But.....yes. They should see what he's looking for. Our WR's are shorties. We need height, especially in the redzone.

yeah, and his vertical reach would even be 7 or 8 inches taller if he actually had hands.

Is he even on a roster right now? KC? Toronto? AFL?

All these guys are 6'0 or taller, why not go with what we have instead of bring in a guy at postition that not a need and he was a player of need on his former squad.

Ecker, Tyler 6'6 269 Tight End
Yoder, Todd 6'4 262 Tight End
Edwards, Eric 6'5 257 Tight End
Cooley, Chris 6'3 265 Tight End
Sele, Taylor 6'0 197 Wide Receiver
Lloyd, Brandon 6'0 192 Wide Receiver
Williams, Deyon 6'3 196 Wide Receiver
Bonner, Cedric 6'1 170 Wide Receiver
Thrash, James 6'0 200 Wide Receiver
Hoag, Ryan 6'2 200 Wide Receiver

THN has a up to date (sortable) Roster to help avoid such post as this  J/K

I used to think signing Keyshawn would be a good idea, until I read something on the SI site from the Charlotte Observer. During last season's game vs. Philly, Carolina was near the endzone and called one of Johnson's favorite plays - a fade to the corner of the endzone. However, Eagles CB Lito Sheppard got in Keyshawn's way, so he didn't finish the route, and allowed Sheppard to intercept Delhomme's pass. Afterward, when Delhomme was catching heat for tossing a pick in the endzone, Keyshawn did not come to the defense of his QB, letting Delhomme take the blame for an INT that was really Keyshawn's fault.

We don't need that kind of player on our team.

nice pull.

Besides Lloyd and Cooley. Who of those guys will be on the field in the redzone? James? Yoder (maybe).

I'd prefer to just have #21 line up at WR or TE when we're inside the 20. But, that's me.

Red Zone :hmm: We could just plan on scoring from 25-35 yards out and this question would be moot.

If I had to put someone out there with Cooley I'd go with

Sellers @ 6'3 and Ryan Hoag has a shot if Espy doesn't have a good camp. You have to keep Moss and CP/Betts on the field so go with Lloyd or a 3rd TE like Yoder

I thought everyone was agreed we didnt want go out and make stupid signings this year and no quick fixes.. we arent coming off a 10-6 season this year where the expectations are high.. MEshawn is 1 year fix at this point in his career.. we dont know what we are going to be next year.. all we would be doing is throwing away money and helping no one

Well, folks, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say there is zero chance of this happening. Then again my track record on trades and player signings this off-season is perfect, so you have to keep that in mind.

He had 15 more receptions that Lloyd and ARE put together last year. Enough said.
