What happened to McCune?

Post by theblueman »

The MLB we drafted in two years ago. He had incredible strength and speed but his weekness was his lack of knowledge w/ the Williams system. I thought at this time he would be getting some playing time. Its hard to get excited about these new LBs we drafted when McCune who seemed to have sky-high potential didn't pan out. He was awesome at Louisville.

Yes, I had hopes for him too, but if he does not know the system, he can't play..too bad, I really thought he had a good chance.. :(

It's more than a defensive system. You can't be a world-class athlete and simply step into the NFL. It takes world-class technical skills and (especially for the MLB position) knowledge and instincts. I get the feeling that McCune had the body for the job but not the experience or head-knowledge needed to make it happen.

If any late round draft pick can succeed, it's going to HB Blades.

His dad was a pretty solid NFL starter and HB has the build and work ethic to succedd.

When I heard about the HB Blades pick, I was more excited than we drafted Landry.

Brian Blades played for the Seahawks and got into a little bit of off the field trouble from what i remember.

His dad Bennie was a beast at safety for Detroit and Seattle as well.

I wonder if they will ever say, "Blades cut up that play."

I really thought McCune was the man. Guess the weight room doesn't exactly translate to Sundays... Good luck meathead
