If you watched as many Maryland games as I did, you wouldn't like the signing
Yeah, I'm a Maryland fan as well and I agree. He was inconsistent and mediocre. I would love for him to prove me wrong in camp but I don't think he will.

#60 Chris Samuels: 6-time 6-time 6-time 6-time 6-time 6-time Pro Bowl left tackle!
yeah idk the Sam Hollenbach doesnt mean much...he sucks he had vernon davis to throw to and he still sucked...he wont make the team or the practice squad but we gave him a shot cause he is from the region so its nice...
but yeah Justin Hickman did rush the passer well, he was projected as a late day pick though and its always good to pick up guys after the draft that were projected to be drafted, its essentially like having a few more 7th round picks
people should stop being suprised by the lack of defensive line additions, an overhaul at the d-line isnt comming this year so just stop wondering why its not happening.
He's just coming to camp so that the rookies and free agents have someone throwing the balls before training camp. Much like they did with former UVA and Richmond QB Bryson Spinner.

He's coming to camp to see if he has what it takes.
"the Danny" brought him in because of is reach into outer Md.
They're not looking for a backup QB right now they're looking for a sponge with some skills.

I agree with you. Gibbs and Co. must feel like they have the best talent that they can find without breaking the bank. They must have more confidence in these guys than we do. Still, with UDFA why not bring in as many as possible? Its still early....But, I'm a bt surprised that there were WR's, RB's and a QB, but only one DL?
there is a reason behind not grabbing all these young dlinemen this year. that reason is because we have around 8 or so that are under 30 years old who have still not gotten a chance because williams doesn't want to drop the injury-prone dline we have now.
we have talent in the d-line and why grab more if we just keep growing at the d-line position? we haven't seen what these guys have yet. Our secondary/linebackers are set for atleast 3-4 years...d-line with continue to grow as the older guys begin to part....just give it a year or two (or if these guys can stay healthy then all will be good)
I like the signing of Stephon Heyer. He could be a valuable back-up if he can learn to play guard.
Hickman was also a good signing.
Hollenbach will be a training camp body. Maybe he could improve enough to play in NFL Europe.

I'm a Terp and I have to say that I agree. Sam's a nice kid, but his skills are ... well... not really suited for the NFL... and that was sugar coated.
(Now, next year will be a different story. Josh Portis (cousin of Clinton) will be the Terps QB. He transfered from Florida and is raising some eyebrows already. MD has some speedy receivers, so it's gonna be interesting. GO TERPS!)

I like the Heyer signing a lot as well. When he was healthy, he was very good. Last year he wasn't so good...but I think his knee was still gimpy after the 2005 surgery.
