Larry Johnson to the Skins for Portis and #1 picK????
Speculation/roumor that LJ is headed to Washington to reunite with Al Saunders.
Skins get Larry Johnson.
Chiefs get #1 2007 + Portis. (& maybe more picks)

That better not be true! That's got to be one of the worst trades ever!

its a week before the draft.. the Chiefs are just seeing what kind of interest there is in there players and are trying to see what they can do to acquire more picks in the draft.. theres NO WAY we would make this trade when we already have 2 great backs.. and Johnson only started half a season when AL was around so the whole so they can be reunited deal doesnt make much sense ..ontop of that we have no real draft picks to offer them.. giving up our 1st would make no sense and Portis isnt gonna be able to carry the ball 457 times in Herms offense

I couldn't find a mention of the Redskins or Portis in either of those linked articles.

where did you ever hear that Portis didnt mind having the year off and what would ever make you say that ? I just dont get how people constantly want to question Portis.. what has he done for us other then perform at a high level
Let's see
Another big name player a team cannot afford...
and miraculously
there's an article whereby the author speculates how the Redskins are interested and with no idea or even an attempt to justify the deal financially
and shockwaves are sent thoughout sports talk forum land where half of these "sports writers" get their kooky ideas to begin with.
It will take 20+ mil guaranteed money to get a conversation with LJ's agent. We have Portis AND Betts. I don't think there is any substance to this rumor.

Don't pay it any mind, it's called assuming and we all know what assuming stands for....

You are correct- these links are only about how KC is thinking about trading some players, including Larry Johnson.
While this is right now just "rumor/speculation" (which I said in my origional post) I guess I would qualify it more as "informed speculation".
The friend I heard it from has a family member who used to work with Comcast sportsnet and who still has contacts there.
This SAME person called the Portis/Bailey trade from Denver a few years back 2-3 days before ANY media outlet had it. (Personally I'd call it "pillow talk" if you catch my drift.)
sorry wormer - not a really good qualification - that source of yours (or whatever) is really, really stupid - if you catch my drift?

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Skins send 1st round pick and JC for Trent Green. Now that's remarkable.

we wouldnt trade for johnson, it wouldnt make any sense. he is scheduled to be a free agent next year accorging to pro football talk. maybe we look at him next year if something happens to portis. he is a beast of a back and would do really well in our system with our O-line. He will probably not have very good numbers this year, and the chiefs are going to be terrible and have lost all of their high profile lineman.
