Our draft priorities are as stated:

1) CALVIN JOHNSON WR (should he fall this far)
GEORGIA TECH
I dont care who you are, this kid is going to be phenomenal. There are just certain CANT miss picks that seems to have a certain aura around them, this kid is one of them. We all knew reggie bush, sean taylor, carson palmer, champ bailey, orlando pace, bo jackson, john elway, o.j. simpson, dangelo hall, chris samuels, derrick johnson, shawne merriman, lavar arrington............................. were CANT miss picks.

Not that we want him or anything, just making an observation, I believe that Jamarcus Russell is going to be the biggest 1st ROUND bust since Ryan Leaf was taken 2nd by the San Diego Chargers.


2) GAINES ADAMS DE(hope the arizona cardinals do not take him)

If there was any question as to who was better this past season GA or JA(Jamal anderson), the combine should have answered that. JA had one more sack GA and despite the fact that florida is in the SEC, the ACC has the overall tougher opponents. (and JA didn't have to play florida)

Also, this team has not had a DE to be truly excited about since we all believed that Bruce Smith was going to produce 15 sack seasons for us, ohhh how naive we are truly are.

3) AMOBI OKOYE DT
LOUISVILLE


Probably going to be the best defensive player drafeted in this years draft. Amazing potential., physical attributes, achivements, and incredebly young. The reason people say that he has not reach his full potential yet is because he is only 19 and is still growing into a massive from. Mark My Words, this kid is athletic enough to be the next young Warren Sapp. If we take Allen Branch, and this kid is still available then I am going to go streaking through a church wearing a cowboys helmet, cowboy boots, and a big blue star on each cheek yelling how 'bout them i'diots.

If there was any question as to who was better this past season GA or JA(Jamal anderson), the combine should have answered that.

Why? JA didn't work out at the combine. The combine told us nothing about them head to head. And in general, it doesn't tell us much anyways. Look at Mike Mamula. Boy, he rocked the combine, and had such a great NFL career after that, didn't he?

Someone very similar to CJ in skill set, athleticism and size is Charles Rogers. Remember him? Yeah, 4 years later, after being the 2nd pick in the NFL draft, he's out of the NFL.

He was a can't miss, once in a lifetime player, too.

Sorry, there just isn't any such thing - not even CJ. That isn't a slight on Johnson at all, there is just no such thing as a can't miss prospect.

There are a hundred names that started as 'can't miss' guys that missed.

Sorry, until the guy's stepped on to an NFL field, it's nothing but conjecture... from ANYONE... and I'm willing to bet that many here share that opinion.

There's PLENTY of ways to argue 'otherwise', but I firmly believe that conversing with anyone who has dug their heels in, is pretty much a complete waste of time and energy. Since you obviously feel that your opinion on this is finite, perhaps you fit that category.

Andre Rison 5 1000 yard seasons.

Mark Clayton 5 1000 yard seasons, *picked in the 8th round of the draft, by the way*.

Drew Hill 5 1000 yard seasons *picked in the 12th round of the draft*

Hell, even Joey Galloway has had 5 1000 yard seasons.

All good players, sure. None worthy of Hall of Fame talk.

That's your measurement of can't miss production, that we should trade your whole draft for?

For the hype he's getting, he'd better be having 10-12 1000 yard seasons, and a Hall of Fame career....

I am as high on this kid as anyone - I think he truly could be great, even the best ever! I understand that his potential is fantastic and we would be very lucky to have him on the team.

There is just no such thing as a "guarantee" in a sport that involves the hitting that is a part of the NFL - injuries are a part of the game and we can not take a chance on a potential superstar at a position that is not that critical to our future at this time. I remember a Vikings team that had Cris Carter, Randy Moss and someone else. This was a "guarantee" team if ever there was a "guarantee" but they never really were that good because they were not a good "team".

No team is really good without a very good defense. When we beat Denver in the SB it was not because our offense was better that theirs it was because our defense played better against their offense (with a HOF QB) and their defense was non existent - Timmy Smith

Right now we have a good QB that needs to grow and develop - we have a good bunch of players around him on offense that I think will be effective to very good this year (Saunders and Gibbs are 2 of the best, offensively). We need to get a lot better defensively this year and then continue to add to the team next year.

I love Johnson and hope for all our sakes he stays injury free, finds a good organization (fortunately no other NFC East team can get him ) and shows that he was the best player in this draft - I just think that we will be a better team this year and in the future if we get better play from our defense as a result of what we do here in the next few months.

We need to "use" this pick to get as many options as we can - hopefully we allow this circus to continue to draft day as I think that will offer the best deal possible.

We got the player we needed in our defense, plus still got an even better TE 2 rds later w/ Captain Chaos. We have plenty of people to catch the ball, now we need players to stop the other team so our offense can get back on the field

I agree that the Redskins need defensive players, but I don't remember a whole lot of anger about drafting Sean Taylor. He was great in college, and he's great now. Maybe I just wasn't aware that a lot of people wanted Winslow.

After that crazy tirade where he called himself a bleeping soldier, I definitely didn't want the Redskins to draft him. Maybe I was alone. Looks like a good move now, though.
