im just really mad that the front office didnt package the ARCH in the trade instead...
We trade him and then a week later these guys want a pick and two players.
I would have been all for it if ARCH and the 6th would have been packaged...
I wish we the fans could had a say in at least some of the decisions this front office makes by which we live and die...
Our front office has to be ranked between 25th and 32nd in the league...

According to the Washington Post, Chicago is expected to counter Washington's offer of the team's sixth overall pick in next month's draft in return for Chicago's 31st pick and Chicago linebacker Lance Briggs. The Bears might ask the Redskins for middle linebacker Lemar Marshall, in addition to the sixth pick.

I say no. Marshall can play all three linebacker positions and is valuable to our team. Golston is the only young and talented player on our d-line. McIntosh still has promise and I wouldn't give him up yet. That is unless the coaches feel that McIntosh will does not fit the bill with the Redskins. McIntosh is the only one I would consider a possibility for a trade.

There's no way the Skins FO would be dumb enough to trade Golston.
One would hope not!!!

Gibbs will not let us down here - there are still 3 weeks to go and there is probably going to be a lot more angst here over some other "deals" before draft day is over.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

If, and that is a big IF!, the skins trade Rocky and the #6 pick for Briggs and the #31 pick than that is like trading the #6 and two second round picks for Briggs and the #31.
My take is He11 no!
The patriots gave 1 2nd for Corey Dillion and the Fins gave a 2nd for Culpepper. Briggs just isn't Ray Lewis in his prime good or even Ray now good.

The Redskins reportedly don't plan to add 2006 second-round pick Rocky McIntosh to the deal they've proposed for Lance Briggs.
ESPN's John Clayton says Chicago's "counteroffer" could be a deal breaker. Washington is willing to take a 25-spot fall in the first round and a disgruntled player off the Bears' hands. It shouldn't take much more.

If we really want Briggs, we need to wait this thing out. We do not need him, but if he is added to the roster he would improve the team. So IMO he is a bonus not a necessity. I am sure that more trade offers will be offered for the 6th pick.

This supposed counter offer is a good thing, because this trade is a bad idea to begin with. Let's hope they really are asking for other players, because even the Redskins aren't stupid enough to go for that. Then we can look forward to the draft and possibly other free agents.

Right on, time is on our side, not theirs. And as you say, this is a bonus, not a necessity. They have the issue, that should be a chip for us. Looks like Gibbs and Co get that since they're not showing any signs of folding.

The best thing for us to do now is just break off talks with them until around draft time. If they aren't going to accept our offer then that's the end of it. They are the one with the disgruntled player not us. I just don't understand why we are pushing this so much, actually I do because it's the same kind of crap that has been going on here for the past 10 years. Just stop talking to them, they will come talking once they figure out for sure Briggs won't play for them. Rediculous
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!
