Throwback uniforms for 07

Post by Charm City Sports »

One of my sources said that the Redskins are going thinking about using the yellow helmet and multi striped jerseys at home next season. That would be cool I guess, but it was Jurgensen's worst season ever wearing that helmet.

I could see this happening though. It is the 75th annv., and remember how good the 70th throwbacks sold?

I was told the announcement could be made as soon as the Beach Blitz.

How often would we be allowed to wear them? I recommend using them for the entire season.

I love the throw backs but I'm not too sure what the striped uni's look like.

Not so worried about the jerseys at this stage - anything will look great to me IF the guys wearing them are playing in late January of 2008.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I don't see why it matters. History is history, we'd have to wear them again on an eventual anniversary so why not now?

thats a good point and im not against those unis at all.. i wasnt around to see them the 1st time .. i know it would never be done but id love to see them wear a different throwback for every home game this year.. although im not sure we have 8 variations of our uniform .. but thats to me would be a great way to celebrate 75 years

The jerseys would look like the type worn by Sonny, Hanburger, and Charley taylor.

My understanding was that the yellow helmet will stand out more and is better to market. The other helmet worn with these jerseys were the two bar helmet with the current logo, so that would not make sence to use those. But yes they wore them once, 1970 I think.

They would wear these at all home games like they did 5 years ago.

That like is what the jersey would look like.

The NFL only allows teams now to use a throwback/alternate jersey up to two times during the regular season and once in the pre-season. Unless the Skins designate a new throwback/alt as the regular jersey. Then they could use it all the time. I really hope they do something. I'd love to see the yellow helmet in play again. Didn't they use that helmet for both the 1970 and 1971 season? Wasn't around then, but I thought I've read it was used for 2 seasons. It was Vince's idea to replicate the Green Bay helmet. Has there been any news on 75th patch logo?

Im not so sure I like those yellow helmets. I like the 69 helm. Yellow would be dramatic change though.

No!

I hate all these stupid new jersey ideas. Just stay with Burgandy and Gold.

Why is that sooooooo hard for some people.

B&G? The old uni's, are B&G!

Stick with it? We've been wearing a 99% white uni for the past 2 years.

What are you talking about?

And when was the last time we actually wore anything that truly represented "gold". We need to wear our real colors; burgundy and gold. Please no more yellow! While I do not want to have uniforms comparable to Florida State we should use the same colors.

So what. Why does it seem like the coolest thing to everyone if we bring back some uniform from 1856, slap a 75th Year Anniversary Patch on there, and look totally random for 3/4 games. Plus, then 1/2 of you guys will be suckered in to buying a jersey which is just what Snyder wants.

Honestly, I liked the white/white for the 5 game stretch last year, but this year it was just dumb.

I just think it's stupid that people hate Snyder because they think he's in it just for the money, but then he comes out with a pointless 84 1/2 year Anniversary jersey and everyone goes out and buys one.

Just stick to the classic White tops, Burgandy pants. It looks sick.

Thats fine if you don't like it. But I think it's not dumb to honor the past. Sure, Danny wants to make a buck off of it but it won't be from you or I. I'll enjoy seeing uniforms in action that were from b4 my time.
