Well that should take care of our LG problem. Good move by the Skins. He already knows the system and he played pretty well at tackle for Jansen and playing guard is a bit easier to boot. The O-line shouldn't miss a beat.
May #21 never be worn again by another Redskin but may every Redskin play like they are wearing #21 on their backs.

He should be doing a lot less movement that Samuels or Jansen, save for the plays when he needs to pull.

Yeah I agree. Glad to have a good backup in case we need tackle help. And it helps with guard options, too!

Hopefully I'm not putting my foot in my mouth but I thought Wade wanted to start wherever he signed, so I feel fairly confident he'll be starting at LG for the Skins.

You would think with all the re-signings we had a steller year. lol

This has been what skin fans have been screaming about for years. Lets see if this works.

I think that he will start at guard unless we draft a player who outperforms him in preseason but I doubt that will happen.

Love the signing as it actually gives us more options. I fully expect us to trade down in the draft and still try and get a good run stuffer or a pass rusher.

As we have filled another need we do not look so desperate and other teams will need to pay more and depending onthe first five picks we could end up getting good value at #6.

I don't believe we need much more help, the team is looking very stable for the first time in years. Dock is gone but at that price I am glad, way to expensive. I am not to concerned about losing any other free agent.

We will get our DL help. Perhaps another first day pick or to to pick up a project OL and some depth at DB.

Last season was awful however we were competative in most games. We have kept the core of the team and are building one block at a time. We are building a team this season not a group of fancy dan individuals. That will do us much better in the long run and maybe even the short run.

Ditto, though I can't claim to have been overly critical of the FA splashes the past two years, I am also pleased to see the team take a more moderate approach.

It' almost like I am watching some other team's free agency moves. It's about time. Really looking forward to their draft choices.

Sounds like a terriffic move. Hopefully this guy has some tricks up his sleeve that we haven't seen yet.

I think that IF we draft down that offensive guard needs to be addressed. This is where our lack of talent on our scouting team hurts us. We need to be able to find a decent grab at this position who will be ready to play a year before Wade's time is up.

What worries me is that CP has a lot of speed and our current guys tend to hold him up at times, hopefully it won't get any worse.

Todd Wade - It's Getting Close
Hey there. I know that the NFL Network is reporting a deal with Wade is done. And I don't doubt it will get done (I think I had him at least tied for the highest score in America's Next Top Dock a while back). But I have multiple sources on both sides of the negotiations telling me that as of 11 pm ish Wed. night, they were very close but had not in fact agreed to terms.

So I got's to go with that. Have to play it safe and go with what I know. I do believe they will get a multi-year deal done by Thursday.

Several players said privately that facing Wade in practice last season was often more difficult than going against starting tackle Jon Jansen, and Wade's return, when coupled with the re-signing of Mike Pucillo, would give Washington solid depth at vital positions.

Wade (6-foot-8, 317 pounds) was originally selected 53rd overall by Miami in 2000 and was signed to a hefty contract by Houston in 2004, including a $10-million bonus. He started 13 games for the Texans that season but suffered a career-threatening knee injury in 2005, and was signed by the Redskins last September. He recovered fully from the knee problems and, should the sides complete a multi-year deal as expected, could fill a crucial role in 2007.

This dude could be an absolute beast if he stays healthy, could start at guard and be a stud back-up at tackle if need be. A year ago the O Line depth was a major area of concern. Skins complete this deal they should be in real good shape (and I would still be surprised if they don't trade down and get a young O Linemen to develop in the second/third round).

Wade's a beast.

I've hoped they would re-sign him sense the start of FA.

Im getting more and more ready for the season to start.
I firmly believe the Patriots are the antichrist.

Hmm... actually, that doesn't really surprise me. I hope they get the deal done. I like Wade. He was Miami's best o-lineman and was a beast for them. Fans here were extremely upset when the Dolphins failed to retain his services. He certainly adds quality depth to the line.

I consider the signing of Wade to be the end of Molinari's career as a Redskin. I might be wrong but Wade really is an OT not an OG. With Pucillo and Wade we now have great depth at OT and OG respectively. I would look for the Skins to find an OG starter from FA, but no rush. That being said these signings introduce competition on the OL which has been lacking for quite some time.

Molinaro was waived several weeks ago. That was the end of his Redskins career.

It is my understanding Molinari is an unrestricted free agent and has not yet been signed by any club. I don't believe he has been waived since he is an UFA.
