Why Does No one like Dwayne Jarrett??

Post by SeanTaylorJr. »

We're talking about a guy who absolutely dominated in the collegiate ranks. He set numerous career records at one of the most prestigious schools in the nation. He played against better competion than probably anyone else in his career. He has shown good character attributes, stayed out of trouble, and gotten the job done. People say he is too slow, just curious as to where they got their time machines since he doesn't run till the 28th (which doesn't really matter anyway like any 40 times). Another ridiculous argument against him is that he is another Mike williams, pfff, what an idiotic idea. sure they have similar builds, but one did nothing for an entire year after college before the league. Oh so we should decide how good a player is based on similar looking players from the same school. Warning then, don't draft any quarterbacks from wash. st. , lineman from mich. st., or de's from Penn st. Everyone needs to be logical and look at what matters here, and you will see DJ should be a elite draft pick

He will no doubt be a good player. You got to admit though with Calvin Johnson in the draft he is really taking all the attention as far as Recievers go. I think Jarrett is a fine reciever he will do good if he continues to work hard. He will be in the late first or second round.

He no doubt will be a good player??? Come on buddy, there have been surer things than Jarrett before who have turned out to not be good players. I wouldn't touch this guy, speed is way too questionable. Also usc wideouts haven't faired well in the nfl

And so did Mike Williams.

Now I'm not saying you should compare Jarrett to Williams just because they both went to USC, but becuase they truly are almost the same exact player.

Jarrett doesn't run good routes, has average speed at best, his hands actually aren't that good, and he has a lazy work ethic.

Now he probably will be good in the NFL, but personally I would not take him within the first 25 picks of the Draft.

Regardless of how similar their careers at SC were, and their bodies, and skills, ect. you still cannot compare the two players.

MIKE WILLIAMS SAT OUT AN ENTIRE YEAR AFTER COLLEGE!!! does no one remember this??? thats like having three offseasons back to back to back. Has anyone every thought that maybe it would be a challenge to come back and play football (let alone in the nfl) after that?

That is a circumstance that is more impactful than a 40 time or bench rep or anything else, he started to improve late last year, give them both a little time before you start drawing unfair comparisons.

"he has a lazy work ethic"
I was just wondering how you know this, you must have a pretty good inside look at the USC program to know that. You must spend a lot of time in the weightroom with them, and winter conditioning, NOT!!!... DON'T JUST GO OFF AND SAY THINGS YOU MAY HAVE FROM SOME "EXPERTS" OR SOMETHING IF YOU DON'T REALLY HAVE ANY IDEA

Hello what? There is no way you can deny the guy he has a national Championship to prove it. I also live in Southern Cali and watched him torch NOtre Dame, Michigan and many other good teams. I dont want to draft him I was just helping the new guys blog out. I want a D lineman and I would definately take Calvin Johnson over him.

But there is no way u can deny Dwayne Jarrett is at least a second round pick.

Yea he torched Leon Hall of Michigan who ran like a 4.39 at the combine. Mike Williams is a lot heavier too. The only reason Jarret is overshadowed is because this is the deepest receiver draft in recent memory. He is like 6'5 with decent hands who can be a good possession guy while also competing for jump balls down field. However, he could be T.O./Burress, but he could also be Rod Gardner. Only time will tell but he has definitely been productive against good teams.
