Where will Moss land?

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Where will Moss land?

PATS LURKING FOR MOSS?

At a time when the signs are pointing to the Raiders dealing receiver Randy Moss to the Packers, sources close to Moss say that another team quietly in the mix is the New England Patriots.

The Pats were rumored to be interested in Moss during the 2006 season, as the trading deadline approached.

The other team that also continues to be mentioned as a potential destination for Moss is the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The biggest impediment to a deal is a contract that is scheduled to pay Moss $9.75 million in 2007 and $11.25 million in 2008. It's tough to commit that kind of money to a guy who has disappeared over the past year or so.

PFT

Oakland might want to get rid of Randy while the getting is good.

Another rumor is Moss to GB for their backup QB... they could then take WR with #1 and go deep to Al's content.

Dude....if the PATS get Moss it'll be over.

Look at what Brady has done with grandma WR's (obvious exaggeration), I can only imagine what will happen if he gets Moss. The question is what Moss will show up? I think being on a contender will cause him to finally come out to play every Sunday. Moss has really fallen off, it'll be interesting to see if he can come back.

Hmm, seems like the Pat's want to sign everyone under the sun. If they don't win the SB next year, I'm sure they will be criticized for spending huge amounts of money on numerous free agents, right? Or does the bashing for signing free agents to big contracts only apply to the Skins?

I do. He plays behind a non-descript line, with some really average offensive talent. Yet he still manages to produce results.

What I get from him is that he just makes smart decisions. It's amazing how big a difference a smart, calm QB can make for your team.

Huge amounts? Popular opinion is the ADT got underpaid by the Pats.

One year doesn't turn a team into the Redskins.

I also live in NE - that O line might not be very good (to some observers)but they do give Brady a ridiculous amount of time to throw the ball - this is one of the best pass blocking lines in the NFL. Brady is great but he would not look as good if that line couldn't block.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

The line gave up the 10th least sacks in the NFL, so it's a pretty good pass blocking line (gave up 29 sacks). Some has to do with the line, of course, but I believe a lot has to do with Brady understanding how to move in the pocket.

It's not close to the Colt's passblocking, which only gave up 15 sacks, or even the Skins who only gave up 19 this year.

I guess my point really is that Brady seems to just create so well and he does not appear to be in a hurry to get the pass off - plus he always seems to make the best reads off what the D is giving him. I know that these are all attributes of a great QB but he also is playing for coaches who tailor everything around these strengths.

This would be even worse for opposing teams if he had a big time guy like Moss to throw to.

Yeah I agree. He plays in a great system for him, no doubt. But man, he really plays with very average talent. I would love to see what he could do in the Colts offense...with that line, the wideouts.

Oh well :)

Why would this strategy work now? Terrell Owens going to Dallas under Bill Parcells did nothing for him and that team had a ton of ups and downs.

I don't know if Moss going to the Patriots would be any different. Moss does what he wants, and he plays when he wants. I don't think that's going to change.

Moss would be a devastating player for NE and especially with that QB - Owens could be a lot better IF he wanted to be - you have to catch the ball and in order to do that you have to really want to catch the ball and practice catching the ball ....... well you get the gist of it.

Moss IMO would be a huge asset to NE because he would want to be a better player and IMO he would catch everything - scary thought!

Randy Moss has to be the biggest TO fan in the NFL. I mean TO makes him not look so bad. How improbable is that happening?
