I am told the big man got on a plane, is on his way to Ashburn, and the Skins will have every chance to sign him. of course, the crazy contract Dockery got will up his price. He left Dallas and from what I gather there will be no more negotiations tonight (the Giants are also very interested as well as a few other teams).
Davis, 28, was labeled an underachiever in Arizona after being taken second overall in 2001, but played the difficult left tackle position. He would move inside with the Redskins, where his 6-foot-6, 366-pound frame would be suited to Washington's power running game, although some scouts question his intensity. NFC East rivals New York and Dallas were making a strong push for him, and Dockery's signing earlier last night no doubt increased Davis's price.

Todd plays Tackle we need someone that can play Guard

Whatever redkinsone, Davis played tackle too....the point is we (Bugel and Gibbs) make a tackle a guard.

On another thread I posed the question whether or not Jansen could move to LG. Then we could make a push to re-sign T. Wade and give him the RT spot. Anyone know if JJ can, or would be willing to, move insde?
Dielman would be better than DAvis. Younger, an over-achiever as opposed to an under-achiever. Reportedly a locker room guy and leader of the great Charger O-line. We have enough overpaid under-achiever types on this team. We neede to add gritty hard-nosed players like JAcoby, Bostic and Grimm used to be. Dielman fits that profile. Davis does not.
Dielman? Won't happen. I think that, at this moment, he is being held under a bright, incandescent light in a damp, dark room in the basement of Seahawk central. A blank sheet of stark white paper sits on a bare wooden table in front of him, with a pale, thin trainer standing above him, repeating "sign zee papers... you vill sign zee papers... "
Seattle ain't letting him out of town unsigned.

My thoughts on Davis are:
- If we were going to overpay for an underacheiver we should have just paid DD.
- Davis came off of the worst O-line in the league... That gives me pause.
- We already have too much in our O-line. Find in solid player at a good price and plug him in.
- The idea someone posed of Jansen moving to LG and signing Wade intrigues me. Jansen and Samuals would be a dominant side, but Jansen is a very good tackel and tackels are harder to find then guards.
- The rumor was the Skins had a deal in place for a prominant OT to come to DC and play OG. The thought was that it was Luke Petigue, but I guess it could be Davis.
- Dielman sounds more like a player that Buges would like. I wonder why he hasn't made the trip. If I was his agent I would tell him that no one overpays like the Skins and he should atleast take a trip to DC.

Sounds like the Seahawks are still trying to replace Hutchinson. Even with a name like Pork Chop, Floyd Womack hasn't filled his shoes.
Let's hope the Seahawks spend most of their money keeping Locklear and going after P. Kerney and D. Graham that Dielman slips. Also, with the Bills way overpaying Dock, agents for O-lineman are all going to take a step back from the table and say, "Is that the best you can do?" It's going to be interesting.

As much as his agent would (I'm Sure) like to do that, I'll bet that he is probably hanging from a pair of shackles on the wall in front of Dielman, and can't quite reach his cell phone.

Davis just arrived with the usual entourage of Skins folks. It's going to cost some serious coin to keep this dude, and some around the league have serious reservations about his dedication and intensity. His rep was not great in Arizona from that standpoint. But the dude is huge, has started at left tackle and bottom line is he is going to get paid in this market.
I really hope we don't pay this guy. I just keep reading bad reviews on him. I know that we are going to have to pay him similar money to what other top lineman are paid. Please don't pay him...please.
