Ramsey out of NY

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Ramsey out of NY

Post by frankcal20 »

New York Jets backup quarterback Patrick Ramsey is expected to be cut or traded by the weekend, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

With a $1.4 million roster bonus due Saturday, Ramsey is an obvious candidate to be jettisoned. The Jets are trying to trade Ramsey before the deadline. Failing that, they will release him and clear $2.1 million in cap space.

So where do you think he will end up? What about Oakland, Cleveland, or possibly Detroit. Maybee Houston or Miami. There are so many teams this year who need a qbu and have room to compete for a starting position.

Perhaps he can be brought back to compete for the #3 spot, eh?

So another joins the host of players we can go re-sign now! Arrington, Smoot, Clark, Morton and now Ramsey!

Excellent, we can go back to when we were going to Superbowls every year before we stupidly cut all our core guys who showed how stupid we were by getting cut by their new teams.

Man, we were so dumb. The Skins bashing fans were so right.

Being cut doesn't mean a guy can't play at this level - it just means a guy isn't worth his current price. For example, Ramsey was dumbed to clear $2.1 million in cap space. I doubt any team would keep a No. 3 QB for that much. He'll get signed elsewhere though.

And it's not like we got significantly better dumping those guys. We just replaced our cast-offs with someone else's cast-offs. I mean really, we gave significant playing time to Mike Rumpf!

Do you realize you didn't actually disagree with me anywhere.

And Rumph was swap for Taylor Jacobs who was a bust from the draft, so I'm not sure what that had to do with the point at all :hmm:

Thanks though!

What's your reasoning for that? We aren't going to play either one. The reasons for Brunell over Ramsey are around mentoring JC.

- Brunell has been a successful NFL quarterback
- Brunell has a lot more experience
- Brunell has been with the Skins continuously under Gibbs and they are on the same page, Ramsey was never on the same page with Gibbs.
- Ramsey's departure wasn't hugs and kisses.

Why would we want Ramsey over Brunell?

There is no reason to want Ramsey over Brunell, I can't even come up with a reason to want Ramsey

I agree, I couldn't either, that' why my list was just why we would want Brunell over Ramsey.
