Another Smoot poll - Do You Want Him?

Post by Justice Hog »

Okay, the last poll was whether you think Smoot will be a Skin in 2007. This poll is different.

Do you WANT Smoot to be a Skin in 2007?

Yes.

1. He knows the system.
2. He played well in the system.
3. The players love him.
4. The fans loved him.
5. The coaches loved him.
6. No chemistry issues.
7. Will be cheaper than other free agents.

Seems like a win-win situation to me.

1. We don't need a shutdown DB
2. We need a competent DB.
3. We need a group of players on defense that play well together, not just one player whom we expect to solve the entire defensive problem.

I voted no but if you're right on #7 then I would upgrade to "yeah, I guess so" though "hell yes" may still be a bit strong for me.

Where's the 'maybe' option? I only want him for the right price. He's certainly not worth a 'typical' Redskins free agent contract (way overpaid).

That's not a factor in this equation. You're asnswer is yes, keep it moving.

I don't really have a asnswer :D but I wouldn't mind having him back under the right situation.

I'll give my answer. It is "hell no".

I really liked Smoot, the character. I really disliked Smoot, the cornerback.

Face it, he's a mediocre player.

I say yes. He is good decent corner. If we can get him for a decent price and he does not ask for too much. All in all he is no position to demand a high price tag. I definately think he would help the Skins.

I did not vote because I am not sure.

I would -ONLY- take him back under several conditions:

1. If he is reasonable in his salary demnds;

2. If he -really- wants to be a Redskin (meaning that under equal circumstances, he would rather play with us rather than anybody else).

3. If he stopstaking rides in love boats.

Otherwise, he can go to another team.

I think he would be a good pickup for the right price.

I could go either way... If we didn't get him, we'd say it was a good move not to and it saved money. But now that they signed him, we can be glad he's back...

It's all about what he does on the field at this point...

Asked if he would finish his career there, Smoot said, "Yeah, that's the plan."
