Another option @ CB...

Post by spudstr04 »

Rod Hood, Philadelphia Eagles:
A fourth-year player, Hood played along-side Carlos Rogers and Jason Campbell at Auburn in 2001-02. He established himself as nickel corner in Philly, logging four interceptions the last two years, and he is looking for a starting job.

I think if we can't sign Clements, that he would be a cheaper option and since he played with Campbell and Rogers, he would be more likely to fit in better.

I would actually rather have Hood than Clements even if we could sign Clements.

He'd be way cheaper, and he's still pretty talented. Seems like a team player.

The most important thing is he's young. I like young...add cheap and its even better.

That stops him from being able to be signed here.

Well, we also have no idea how he'd perform as a starter ... if he is getting toasted on a regular basis then young and cheap don't matter, those things don't have inherit value if the talent isn't there

There are teams that have been successful in this league with worse starting corners than rod hood. I rather him over clements too and as a plus he isn't afraid to tackle.

I've yet to see a scouting report on him ... additionally it is worth noting he comes from a very solid secondary which raises the question of whether playing nickel in a solid group helped mask his weaknesses. I am not saying this is a bad idea, I am saying you can't point to the stats we have here and his age and conclude that he's a better option than a more established player.

I was talking about Roderick Hood to my friend the other day, he played very well this season when Lito went down. I would like us to pursue him. But I want my boy to come back, I am on the Smoooooooot bandwagon.

I am going to throw this out there although Gibbs would never consider it. I would take a chance on Pacman if he was cut.

Isn't Rod Hood a synonym for foreskin?

There is no way in the world Gibbs would allow Pac Man would play on this team. I for one would be sooooooo embarrassed to be a fan. That would be a black day in redskins history.

Pacman Jones? You mean the Redskins signing the exact type of player that they don't need on the team? Wow that would be a terrible move...

As far as Hood goes, I would be ok with that, but I doubt it'll happen.

Why do you doubt Hood will happen? Do you know something we don't? I think we have a better chance of landing hood than clements or smoot.

Because it's just a rumor... out of all of the players people talk about the Redskins signing, they only sign a couple. Depending on what direction they want to go in the draft with drafting defense, they could take a CB late and just go with what they have now.

I also said I doubted they'd trade for Strahan, that didn't mean I knew anything else that people didn't. Just my opinion.

I just am not sure, but no, I haven't heard anything about it.

I am pretty sure there is no rumor about us going after him. It was only mentioned on the board because he was mentioned as a top cb free agent on redskins.com. Clements and Smoot are the rumored players probably because they love people talking about them.

yeah that must be it. You dont have a clue of the depth of my redskin loyalty.

pacman will probably end up with the cowboys or something.

See you in AZ for XLII.

I don't plan to inquire about the depth of anything of yours.

I was basing my comment on what you said. You want one of the worst people in the league to join this squad. Someone who is the main reason they're implementing new rules into the league for. He's an idiot he isn't that great to warrant the baggage he comes with.

Gamebreaker? He's a lawbreaker.

Check out his name CLL.

Ok Gay4packman, I can see you are a bit biased on the guy. Are you related to him or something? where does this unconditional love come from?

I just heard on the radio that police have an audiotape of the biggest drug dealer in Tenn. who was just arrested for the largest drug bust in Tenn. history. This dealer has a car that is tied to Pacman and he said he is worried about pacman. He said that he told pacman to slow down smoking pot because Pacman is going to be tested and it takes 33 days to clean out the marijuana from his system. It should say something when drug dealer is worried about your wellbeing.

I just can't imagine anyone would want him on their team. Thats crazy.

(I can't type and talk on the phone at the same time about 2 different subjects. Sorry CLL)
