Caps Deal Zubrus

... to the Buffalo Sabres for Jiri Novotny, and a first round draft pick for Zubrus and a prospect.

Good trade for the Caps, Zubie's a free agent at the end of the season, and Washington hasn't been able to reach an agreement on an extension.

In my last couple of articles, I speculated that the Caps would trade Zubrus and Zednik, and they have now traded both.

I'll post the prospect's name when I get the info...

The prospect was defenseman Timo Helbling. He played with the Caps in two games this season, but spent most of his time in Hershey.

They did trade Zed years ago. Then he came back and got traded again. Also traded was Defenseman Jamie Heward.
