Part owner from 1961 to 1974
Majority owner from 1974 to 1985
Sole owner from 1985 to 1996.

Numerous playoff appearances, four NFC championships, five NFC East division titles, five superbowl appearances, and three superbowl championships.

Not to mention a Hamilton, Ontario, Canada - born and self-made man.

I have not started to fire anecdotes, some from Joe Gibbs himself. What do you have to show for Mr. Snyder? Seriously, I mean.

Woah woah woah woah WHOA. Hold on there RiC!

I in no way was I comparing Jack Kent Cooke to Snyder. JaKC was the best owner I could ever wish for, and someone I dearly hope Snyder becomes in the future (especially being 80 and having some eye candy on his arm in the box...that was always hilarious). He was diplomatic, and smoothed the constant conflict between Gibbs and Beathard. The Skins worked BECAUSE of Jack Kent Cooke.

The Redskins will work only in SPITE of Snyder at the moment. But that wasn't who I was talking about.

I said JOHN Kent Cooke. Jack's son. Ran the team when Dad became a little too old to do so (after the 1991 Superbowl up until the team passed on to Snyder).

Huge difference. Jack was active, and passionate about the Redskins. John was, at least from the outside, indifferent. The Redskins weren't his baby. They ARE the baby of both Cooke and Snyder, and whatever else you may say about Snyder, he cares deeply about this team.

Hey brother, we are on the same page. No harm done. It was useful to put some links here for the younger guys.

Peace.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Ah a clever variation on the "it's not you, it's me" breakup line!

Chris, it'll never happen. The guy grew up wanting to own the Redskins. He got his wish.

Unfortunately, we're fans of his toy now.

After what we have seen with the first day in free agency - the "show" is being managed with a great deal of restraint.

All those who were so sure we would just have to sign Clements just because he was the biggest free agent available now should understand - this is 2007, Gibbs is in charge and we are trying to get things back on track in a fiscally responsible manner.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
