Jerseys

Post by DarthMonk »

I always laugh when I see a Redskin jersey like WESTBROOK or SANDERS or GEORGE.

I own JURGENSON, RIGGINS, MONK, and GREEN. They don't have names on them, just 9, 44, 81 and 28, but I still get "nice jersey" a LOT at every game I go to.

My mom bought my 6-year old a last-minute jersey for xmas. I was concerned - hoping he wasn't getting the latest version of SHULER.

He got MOSS. I was relatively pleased.

Of the current players, whose is the best jersey to own? Who might stay with the Skins for virtually his entire career thereby invoking pride when you don the jersey even after he's gone?

By the way, I tried to get a new number 44 a year ago but the NFL INSISTS on putting a name on it. I wonder if they are concerned about homemade profanity.

Frankly I see no other choice but Jansen if only picking from the current bunch.

Seems with his new deal he will be a carrer long Redskin. He might try to milk a little more cash out of some other team at the end but he will always be a Skin at heart. Plus he is no garbage, plays hurt etc. He's the kinda guy you wish you had 53 of.

There is no other current Redskin I would even consider droping 3 bills on for a jersey.

Not one Current player that I would want. But Green's 28 is the one that I would want. Or Jacoby's, or Grimm's. But Not a skins fan so not really wanting one. Just my 2 cents on the subject.

I got Cooley because I can see him being with us for a fair amount of time, let alone I love the guy, he's my favorite player.

Right now, I dont even want to say anybody because we are apparently suppose to be cutting a lot of the team.

Im actually thinking of getting a Jurgensen one also

I just got a Dexter Manley one and would like to find a Charles Mann to match it. I'd also like a Dave Butz and Don Warren. Of the current skins the only one I can see lasting is Jansen - maybe a year or two from now J. Camp. will be in that class.

Anyone know if it is possible to get a Don Warren or Dave Butz?

Current players I own:

Sean Taylor
Chris Cooley
Santana Moss

The first two I expect will be with the team for a long time.

MIKE SELLERS, #45. I asked for and got a Sellers jersey for Christmas, for several reasons. First, he plays hard and he can lay the wood. Second, Gibbs loves him. Third, he's a fullback, and fullbacks are less likely switch teams because they generally don't get offered the huge contracts. I think the organization likes him and will pay him what's necessary to keep him around. Finally, although he's had some troubles in the past, by all accounts he's put them behind him and he's a good guy.

I used to but Jerseys, But it got out of hand there for a while with all the player movement. So I finally bought a Jansen. Glad I made a good decision.

That figures! :puke:

If you like Boonell so much, why do you have Ramsey and Danny Awful in your avatar?

I have a:
Green, Jurgenson, Monk, and a "shaddow" Cooley jersey!
I also have some others that I don't wear and won't name.

I had to have my Cooley jersey fixed because after washing it two times the black paint was coming off of the numbers. I had Chesapeake Embroidery in Lexington Park sow new black numbers over the black painted area were the numbers were. It cost me $40 but they did an incredible job and it looks better than day one. They will also replace they name plate with another name for $15-$20. Maybe that Sanders jersey that I have never worn (a gift) will become a Taylor!

I'd say that Jansen is a lock at this point.

Then again, I'm a bit conservative on which jerseys I'd buy after owning Stephen Davis and Champ Bailey. :| At the time, I would also have called Lavar the kind of player that would be around for a long time.

I love Chris Cooley and would like a jersey, but he worries me, I'd like to see him have 3-4 more productive years and be under a long(er)-term contract before I bite.

I have CP's jersey. I got the nice one with the stitched lettering for X-mas. If he gets cut within 2 years, I am still going to be sporting his jersey! Just like I have a Coles jersey :-s that I don't really wear except for lending to someone who is in need for a redskins jersey when I am watching the game with them. Oh, to be exact, I have 2 CP jerseys. One thats painted with the numbers and one with the stitiched numbers.

I have a Redskins of the Century jersey with Darrel Green, Doug Williams, Art Monk and Sammy Baugh. Their numbers are stitched on the front, in that order, hornizontally. On the back, the numbers are in four large squares and each number has a white stitch autograph and it says Redskins of the Century across the top. It is awesome, it's gorgeous, looks like it should cost hundreds but it's a knock-off. No chance in hell you'd know that unless I told you either. I'll post pics later, my brother bought it for me in South Korea.

I've seen that one. I also saw one that said THE HOGS on the name plate and had six players. It was sweet, but was obviously a knock-off and $300 bucks, so I passed.
