Norv to Cowboys?

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Comparing Norv Turner to Joe Gibbs!?!?!?!??!?!

That is the dumbest thing I've seen in a while!!!!!

Do you even follow football?

He follows football, but you have to consider the team he roots for to understand why he doesn't understand

I say let forskins and the rest of the Cowboys fans believe that Turner can be effective in Dallas. When he fails, and make no mistake, he will fail, we can all laugh that much harder. Schadenfreude at its finest.

You're not saying for(e)skin is a schmuck are you?

Yes, well done snipping for(e)skin's absurd comparison. We need to circumcise the demons. I mean exercise them. It's hard to take someone who names himself after part his pecker seriously anyway.

No smack here, referring to nothing but his self selected high school humor username.

Mocking his username is talking Smack though, that has nothing to do with his post. I know that wasn't your intent but the standard is clear, address the post, not the post-er.

OK, I will abide by your decision since you maintain the site and I simply post my views, but to me mocking the username is more along the lines of mocking the post then the poster. Particularly mocking the username for a meaning he clearly intended. I'm not arguing and won't defy, just saying I don't agree.

If the name were mocking the Cowboys it's one thing, but a pun on the Redskins site for that means part of the penis I don't.

Let's try it this way:

Norval Turner 2004-2006 9-23
2006-2007: Fired, see above

Now, now... The comparison is between the Redskins to the Redskins.

We can't include Joe Gibbs previous tenure since it was before the salary cap and Snyder's ownership of the team.

With the exception of Gruden, Everyone has failed in Oakland (Callahan was riding of Gruden's success). Even with the extra early round picks from Tampa, they were still able to drive the team into the ground even further.

And in Norv's final five seasons in Washington, he had four winning seasons (6-10 in 1998) and was 7-6 in 2000 when Danny grew impatient and fired him after losing two straight.

Was there anything in my posts that suggested the Cowboys should hire the guy?? You must have missed my point.

Interesting nobody around here wants to mention the possibility of Rivera being signed as well as Singletary.

1) You never said you were against/troubled by his candidacy, in fact, you've defended the man, ipso facto, you believe he should be hired. In fact, you still haven't indicated an objection to his hiring, you've simply said you did not say it explicitly and that we missed your point.
2) This thread is specifically about Norv. He is a terrible head coach. We all hope to see him in that capacity in Dallas next season.

Nope, sorry, the point of my post is NOT about his desire to be the next head coach. The point would be the comparison itself. Who am I comparing Norv to? Food for thought, if you will.

At this point, it doesn't look its going to happen despite what the media thinks. Why would they wait be this long? He would have been hired last week. Its looking more and more like Rivera is going to be the guy. You should be hearing all about this being in Texas, right?

They have to wait to talk to Rivera, his contract doesn't end until Sunday. After he says no, JJ will hire Norv on Tuesday, and then the fhit will hit the san

Yes, living in Virginia makes it impossible for me to look at the websites of the Dallas Morning News or the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

Sources told ESPN.com's Matt Mosley one of the holdups to Turner's candidacy is that he doesn't think Garrett is ready to be an offensive coordinator. Garrett interviewed for the head coaching position almost two weeks ago, but he's been expected to be named the offensive coordinator.

Jones would like for Garrett to take on some of the play-calling reponsibilities, but sources said Turner doesn't think he's ready. Turner is a fan of Garrett's, but may be leaning toward naming Cowboys assistant head coach/offensive line Tony Sparano the offensive coordinator and using Garrett in a different role.

Maybe they should make Jason Garrett the Head Coach

So let me get this straight: an arguably top offensive mind thinks that Jason Garrett isn't ready to be an OC, so the cowboys hire a defensive-minded coach, and, I would expect, name Garrett the OC? Someone pinch me, I must be dreaming!

They hired a guy that Norv Turner thought would be ineffective? I suppose I can't argue with that. . .
