Fear of accountability (which is a continually rising theme in our society). That's what it's all about for these spinelesss voters.

I don't even think it's so much that they are reluctant to be held accountable as it is they have a "power" that they are loathe to give up. Nothing about having the writers decide who gets in and who doesn't makes sense and, deep within the recesses of their pea brains, I think the writers know that. It's cliquish, they relish in the exclusivity of it. They refuse to deal in facts, they have an arrogant belief in the power of their opinion. Witness this quote from the consistently worthless Jason Whitlock:

There’s a silly debate being waged about whether Michael Irvin should’ve entered the Hall of Fame before Art Monk. This is ridiculous. The Pipemaker should’ve been a first-ballot inductee. Monk is a borderline candidate at best.

You simply can't offer any, annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnny evidence to support that notion. The Monk thing that is, I don't have a problem with Irvin's induction. But, someone pays Whitlock to "write" and thus he thinks he can dismiss Monk with one sentence. These guys need to be taken down several notches and that starts with, if not taking away their vote, then diluting it as much as possible.
And, on a tangent, it's stunning to me how awful sports writing is, these guys aren't even good at the very thing they earn a living doing.

I'm still so pissed, I hadn't been able to think clearly on this stuff.
Hail to the REDSKINS, Hail VICTORY.
