At least there is some good news coming out of Redskins Park!

Sean Taylor is headed to Hawaii. The hard-hitting safety has been added to the Pro Bowl, replacing Brian Dawkins on the NFC roster.

I'm just saying...
USAFSkinFan wrote:I understand Roy Williams is a Cowboy, but the dude is a hell of a football player, and his coverage skills can't be much worse than Taylor's if he had 5 INTs... I remember Marvin Lewis, when he was with the 'Skins, saying he'd play "D" with 10 players if he could have Roy Williams...
You really couldn't go wrong with any of those big names in the NFC like Roy Williams, Adrian Wilson, Brian Dawkins, and Sean Taylor... Wilson may be the best of the group, even though he doesn't get a lot of pub...
Of course, the human ball hawk, Ed Reed, in the AFC is no slouch either...

And besides, Roy Williams was WAY worse than Sean was this year and he was ALREADY in.
Congrats Sean!

you are a complete homer. Sean Taylor was beat 11 times for a TD this year, Roy Williams was beat 3 times.
have you ever watched football? just because Roy only had 62 tackles, doesn't mean jack. you are simply pulling numbers off of the internet, thats all you have brought up in your argument of Roy "sucking."
Roy had a much better year than Taylor did. Taylor was beat for 11 TDs, while Roy was beat for 3, Roy forced 8 turnovers (should have had 10, but 2 were called back because of roughing the passer and hit on defenseless WR calls).USAFSkinFan wrote:You really couldn't go wrong with any of those big names in the NFC like Roy Williams, Adrian Wilson, Brian Dawkins, and Sean Taylor... yea, all 4 of them are atop the league, but i think you got it a bit twisted.
Dawkins is probably the best Safety in the league.
Roy Williams is the 2nd best S in our division, followed by Wilson and then comes Taylor.
oh and 2 of his INTs were called back, 1 because Newman decked a Lions WR and they called "hit on a defenseless WR" and the other because of a "roughing the QB" call. and he took that INT vs. the Lions back to the house. not to mention he forced 3 fumbles as well. so 10 turnovers looks pretty good to me.
on those 2 Santana Moss TDs last year, Roy was at fault for one of them, the other one it was Keith Davis zone and Roy Williams came from his, after the ball was thrown. on that 39 yarder, Roy was most definately at fault though.
Sean Taylor is a hoax and has lived off of his potential alone, he hasn't produced all too much yet. you guys need to get off his cock, he might be a pretty good FS with a lot of potential. he might be one of the most athletic players in the NFL, but he is stupid and hasnt done jack in his career.
Roy came into the league his rookie year and after 4 games was being compared to Dawkins and even put above him (remember the 2 INTs for 6 he had against you guys that first game?).
Sean Taylors rookie year he got burnt by our 7th round rookie Patrick Crayton (and yea, im gonna bring that up, simply because you guys brought up the Santana Moss TDs from last year). Where was Santana Moss this year? I believe T. Newman made him his bitch in both games!
and to whoever said Tony Romos pro-bowl was a joke, you are completely right, so was DeAngelo Halls and Sean Taylors. I assure you that T-New is a better CB than Hall and i can name atleast 3 FS that are better than Taylor in the NFC.

I was gonna give this guy a chance until he said that Roy Williams was beat for 3 TDs this year.... Wow....
I mean.... Wow....
One of the dumbest comments I've ever heard on a football forum. Just unbelievably ridiculous.
And I do agree with you that tackles are not EVERYTHING when judging safeties but 111 to 62 is a such a huge disparity that you have to look at it. That's nearly twice as many tackles. How can you just turn away from a stat like that?
Roy Williams had a terrible, terrible season. 3 TDs? Haha..... Unreal... absolutely unreal. Not even worth arguing with someone this off base.
I do agree that Newman should be in the Pro Bowl tho. He's the best CB in the NFC in my opinion.
Roy Williams gave up 3 TDs??? HAHA. What game are we talking about? HAHA...
Unfreakingreal.
JPM36 wrote:You can't just pull stats out of your "rear end" like Taylor gave up 11 TDs and Roy gave up 3. You don't know that for a fact. That is complete garbage. Do I know how many TDs Sean gave up this year? No. I really don't. He gave up several though. I'd have to go back and watch tape of every game, then ask the coaches whose responsibility the WRs were on every TD pass that he was in the area of.
I watched every Redskins game this season and was subjected to every Cowboys game bc they were shown on national TV every week as the media darlings of the league for no apparent reason.
It is my opinion that Roy Williams, WITHOUT QUESTION, gave up more TDs than Sean this year. And that is with the best CB in the conference anchoring his secondary. Sean played in an extremely banged up secondary, behind a far wose Front 7 than Roy enjoys, like you already said.
Sean Taylor is a far better player than Roy Williams is. Roy is just too slow to play safety in the NFL.
