Taylor????

Post by cwb4skins »

in my opinion the best thing we can do for this years draft is to keep our #5 overall pick and take Sean Taylor. sure, maybe a bad workout on Pro Day, but thats one day out of an entire career. this guy can change an outcome of a game with one hit or one awesome play(including ints). he's big, strong, fast, hits hard, and is a great coverage guy. we will still have a 5th round pick...let's get some d-line help there. there are plenty of excellent defensive lineman in this years draft. look at Derrick Dockery from last years draft..i know he is on o-line, but we picked him up in the 4th round i think and he turned out to be a player of starting calibur. if all goes as we expect..we will not have a high draft pick like this for years to come..which is fine with me...as long as we are winning. it just seems to me that great lineman can come from where you least expect them to....too many times a hyped up d-lineman has been picked high in the draft and was a complete bust...or just an average player....heck...our d-line is full of 1st round draft choices right now....and several that we have let go...including Wilkerson, Lang, and so on. Taylor...Taylor...Taylor..players like this only come along once in a blue moon. maybe i'm way off on this, but it's my opinion...what do you guys(and gals) think?

I agree 1000%! I think Sean Taylor is the logical pick.
Let us all gather around and drink the Cooley-Aid of the Redskins.

I think Taylor would be a great pick for any team especially ours. But I am putting my trust in Gibbs and his Staff, I think they will do what is best for the orginazation now and for the future. Hopefully Taylor is their choice but I won't dog them if they choose a different path to go down.
I have travelled the net and found the Redskins promise land. This is, by far, the best site out there for Redskins/NFL News, Notes, Opinions, and so much more.

I like Taylor, saw his Bowl game and he played awesome and would be a great pickup for us.

However, I mentioned this in another column but I watched Udeze on NFL Total Access last night and thought more and more what a great pickup he would be. Not only to give us a pass rushing end that we Need (we don't have a pass rusher in our entire group) but he came across as a really good guy, someone who I think Gibbs would really want as a Redskin.

Yesterday he was a guest on "Mike & Mike in the morning" He seemed to be a poised young man. They were discussing his last 40 times. Taylor said that he had just ran a 4.4 and know he can get a 4.3. :D :o  :o I think we should get him and keep the underachievers we have on our team, in check.

I believe we picked up Dockery in the 3rd round :?:. We need DL help and if we can trade down with Cleveland and receive their #7 pick and a 2nd rounder it would be awesome. We can still get either Udezie or Taylor and draft Darnell Dockett in the 2nd round. That would be a great situation for us. But who knows...that seems like alot to give up just to move up two spots.
