ESPN's Ed Werder reports the 49ers have offered offensive coordinator Norv Turner a "lucrative incentive package" in an attempt to dissuade him from taking the Cowboys' head-coaching position.
The Niners want to retain Turner, who's been instrumental in Alex Smith and Frank Gore's development. Jerry Jones interviewed Wade Phillips on Friday and is set to meet Saints defensive coordinator Gary Gibbs early Saturday. Turner's interview is scheduled for Saturday after the Senior Bowl. San Francisco is trying to prevent that meeting from taking place.

Oakland? Come on, everyone fails in Oakland lately except for Gruden (Callahan rode Gruden's work into the Superbowl).
Norv Turner had a losing record against everyone in our division, including the Arizona Cardinals.
That's not sad. That's pathetic.
You know the Cowboys would have a very good offense if Norv was there, but man...the team would end up shooting itself in the foot for a good 5-7 games every year.
Perhaps Tony Romo will decide to headbutt a wall?
