How did you hear/find TheHogs.net

Post by oafusp »

I was at Redskins training camp last summer and I saw a "TheHogs.net" cardboard sign in the back window of a car in the parking lot.

My first thought was the car belonged to a Joe Jacoby stalker, they run wild in this area.

But I checked the site out, I do not even remember much about my first visit since there was not much to talk about since the Skins sucked under Spurrier.

ENTER Joe Gibbs....

I was in a desperate need of a Skins fix, weeks had passed since our season ended early....once again.
So I remembered the "Joe Jacoby stalker sign in the window" and the rest is history.

This is the best place to get info in the offseason, and if you ever have the urge to talk Redskins Football then this is the joint. Can't wait till camp starts...then the season.

....burp..

Being from California my only source of skins info is through the internet. Searching have taken me to this site and never look twice, it's the best board for Skinformation and I enjoy reading the threads from all the good people in this community. I have a Virginia license plate stuck to the rear window of my Jeep that reads 50 GUT.
I am proud to show them that I bleed Burgundy & Gold.

Hail to the Chief...Jo Gibbs that is.

I saw it mentioned in ESPN THE MAGAZINE early last year...and then found the site.

The day the Gibbs story broke I read the WP chat and immediately logged-on to check it out.

And I'm glad I did! This site is great and everybody who contributes does so with passion and class.

Go on Ebay and run a "Joe Gibbs" search. That's how I bought my two.

I found this site through a link on fan site called summoskins.

It was a good site but has fallen of as of late.
The guy who runs it has some great artwork though. It's worth a look.

This is my new 'Skins central. By far the best 'Skins site on the net bar none.

I too started looking for more Redskin info when I heard Joe Gibbs was coming back. It's been nice to be able to talk football and keep the offseason chat going until our season begins. I don't know how many Taylor/Winslow/Trade Down discussions I've answered, but I'm willing to do about 10 more.

I first found it by e-mailing all the Skins fan sites a couple of years ago for an "ESPN" type of Skins graphic, like some of the members have as their avatars. I got a response from BossHog and went on my way.

Then, at Skins camp in 2003, I met Mark and he asked to see if my mom (SkinsChic) and I would like to meet up with him and taz for lunch. We did and had a blast. He asked if I would like to write for the site, which I accepted immediately because I want to be a sports jurnalist. What's better than being able to talk about the Redskins every day?

I was at camp and met SkinsFanNo9 there - he was doing daily updates for both practices to let people know what was going on, who got hurt, who looked good and bad.

I joined and then started writing for the crew about the games during the last part of the preseason :)

Divine intervention:lol:

Actually web searches led me to the sight last summer. I loved reading about all the stuff going on at training camp - it was like being there - very cool.

I found this to be a fun, knowledgable group of folks and have stayed ever since.

Now I get to help Mark in anyway I can and LOVE making those avatars.

the first thing that caught my eye about this site was on the main page where you have a alot of archives (draft, fan2fan etc,) then once i got into the board and read the posts i saw everybodys avatars along with their very informative posts i knew right then this was the place and it,s still the place. i remember asking about the redskins journal, they jumped right on it in no time.i recall i beleive that poster at the time was rich and tc along with a few others.

kudos goes to the moderators of the site.
thanks again i,m glad to be apart of the hogs.net family.

I saw it stamped on the back of a Cowboys head. I think he was an undercover Redskin lover.

wow oafusp... the sign in the window was mine :-) Ken harvey actually had it made up for us for his event and then signed it after... it seemed silly not to put it in the window when we were at the parking lot at camp.

This year, hopefully we'll have a few cars in a row with theHogs.net on them :-)

I've been visiting this site for a couple of years just for the news and special articles. When they got Gibbs back I had to see what the masses had to say about it and you folks sucked me right in and I had to join. I usually don't get involved in these things, but I couldn't help myself.

After the news that Gibbs was coming back, I called a friend of mine at 5:00am to break the news to her. She says she's not a Redskins fan, but I know she IS. She just won't admit it. (HI GAIL) Anyway, she emailed me and asked me have I seen "thehogs.net". I immediately checked it out, and I've been on every day since then. THANKS GAIL!!!!

I guess I could say that this site found me. I was a lost ship at sea and it was my harbor....ahh forget it. I have been here from just about the beginning. Thanks again, Mark, my Canadian brother.

I was searching the net and came across this site. Out of all the Redskin message boards I have come across, this is by far the best. It's the most organized run site IMO.

Someone from this site, I believe it was BossHog, stopped by Cowboysguide the week of the first Dallas/Washington and invited us to come here as long as we obeyed the rules.

I think Gambit and myself are the only ones who registered at that time.

I can't believe how quickly this site has grown since then. Definitely a testament to how crisply it's run. You guys certainly do a great job.
