Redskin draft history

Post by MEZZSKIN »

Hey guys I know this topic has been beaten to death and for good reason but Look at this draft History ...If you go back to 2002 were we loaded up our picks ..Loo at the quality depth they added that year...Cartwright in the seventh etc . Having more picks increase your chances of adding good cheap young players. ala eagles, patriots

Then look at 2003 (a draft not talked about much) Disaster!..Thats where 2006 starting to go downhill....Clearly the last 3 drafts killed us...No depth thru the draft equals disaster...Anyway this link is fun(or painful depending on how you view it) just to see our draft history

I can't really see anywhere in that list where we had a really good draft. We've stunk at the draft year after year. We get the occasional highlight, such as drafting Arrington and Samuels, but for every one of those, we get a Wally Kleine or Andre Johnson.

What I remember about previous Redskins drafts going back to the late eighties, is that I had never heard of most of the players they'd drafted. Hadn't read about them anywhere.

That's not really the problem though. The problems is that most of them were never heard of again.

Man our draft history is pathetic. Gibbs was able to aquire talent through free agency in the past. On the 1981 squad the Skins had the most free agents of any team that won the Super Bowl. I believe Bostic and Jacoby were both cast off from there original teams.
Sean Taylor starting free safety Heavens team!

Jacoy was an undrafted free agent, whom Joe Gibbs thought was a Defensive Tackle.
