Heck, Ask Smoot! No matter what he's saying now, I'd bet when he heard that the Poston's don't read the contracts that they're PAID to negotiate (and therefore READ), that it took him only the couple of seconds required to find the phonebook to find a new agent.
And as much as I love LA, his production has defintely slipped the past 2 years. His tackling should earn HIM the name 50/50!

We're discussing a man, who says he was screwed out of a lot of money. And you saying his agent is screwing him is like me saying Snyder screwed him, we're just talking from what we've heard, because we really don't know enough about the situation.

We've only heard one side of the story, and we're waiting to here Danny Boy. And if Lavar is crying over spilled milk, that is some expensive freaken milk...

Lavar seems to be an intelligent man, and I'm willing to bet he's pretty football savvy. So I'm sure that he can see, just like the rest of us, that a cap hit of 18 million in 2006 most definitely does NOT make you a Redskin for life. :?

Oh yeah, thanx cjpck44 for telling me about this site. I kept looking for a good Redskins board, but the only thing I could find was Extreme Skins ... which for some reason I just did'nt like very much. :D

Obviously a man of refined tastes :)

Love the signature line by the way - I would probably tweak it to say that the shortest distance between two points is through someone's yard in a monster truck :)

I can't help but see it the same way most are as far as Snyder getting shaken down by the Postons here. I can't believe that any lawyer worth his salt isn't going to read a clause that would be worth 6.5 million dollars. How BIG a clause could that have been? Sheesh. Then on top of it, they are accusing the owner voted in high school "Most Likely To Overspend On Pro Players" of trying to shaft LA for 6.5 million which is nothing for him to spend.

I just wonder if they can pay him 6.5 mil now as part of a settlement and work it out so it doesn't hit the cap? ::grin::

I think what bothers me most about all of this is that, for some reason, Lavar is taking this opportunity to claim how he has lost all trust in the Redskins organization for which, weeks before, he claimed the utmost loyalty.

With all due respect to Mr. Arrington, I believe his beef is NOT with the Redskins. His beef is with his agent. Somehow, his agent was able to get Lavar off of his back....and focus him on the Redskins.

One question for Lavar: "Who are you more loyal to, man? Your agent or the Redskins?"

To those of you that say Dan should just re-work the contract so Lavar gets the $6.5 million back...I say NO WAY! You certainly would never want to open this can of worms...FOR ANYONE!!!! Once you do it once, there will be tons of players that sign a contract and then, in a few weeks, come back and say, "Oh wait! I also wanted....."

Please, you don't want to go there...do you?

Message to Lavar: Lavar, if you're gonna be pissed or "hurt/dissapointed" by anyone, please focus on your agent....and ask YOUR AGENT to pay you the $6.5 million out of his pocket.

I think that if he's angry with the Front Office he should take it through the legal channels. No need to air it out through the press, it makes you look bad and does nothing but seperate a team. No matter what that kind of talk gets spread around and people (coaches, players, fans) have to make a choice or at least think differently about him and the team. It's a shame.

Don't ever air out your dirty laundry in public.

As I've been saying since Lavar started this - trade him! As much as I enjoy watching him play, he is blaming the wrong person and can hit the road the hard way. Send him to the weakest AFC team we can find. Then let him watch the 'Skins return to glory without him.

Let's hope he comes to his senses and stops this BS. Also, I hope it doesn't go down like the TO feasco.

Glad I didn't buy his jersey..... Already got burnt on Champ. Speaking of jerseys I saw a Gibbs throwback jersey with #04 on ebay. I was a little late and missed the final call. That would have been cool.....

This is getting really ugly, hopefully Snyder is just waiting to see him at mini-camp so he can settle this mis-understanding.

Snyder might not be at the Mini Camp~ the first owner's meeting is this weekend in Florida.

LaVar Arrington - WAS - LBMarch 24
LaVar Arrington will press forward with his grievance against the Redskins to void his contract.Arrington and his agents claim that $6.5 million was held out of the contract that they signed. Find a player holding out, complaining, or generally being a distraction and you are likely to find a client of agents Kevin and Carl Poston behind them

And every time I check this thread's still going.

As far as the Poston's go, look at some of the players they represent:

Orlando Pace - still not signed for the second year in a row.
Lawyer Milloy - Took the agents' advice and got cut, played for a lousy team and missed another superbowl - the Postons got 3% on Milloy's new deal
Lavar - we all know
Ty Law - What is this guy thinking? He's been the top paid corner for the last 4 years, and now that he's 30 he wants to keep being number one? The Patriots are offering him top 5 money.
Ian Gold - could have signed a big extension last year but the Postons talked him out of it, now after his knee injury still waiting for a contract

I'm sure I could go on and on, but those are just off the top of my head from what I've read recently. Man, what a pair. I hope the Redskins prove them wrong, counter sue them, and the NFLPA kicks them out of the league.

That makes a lot of sense. That is the reason the Broncos traded Portis. Despite the fact the Broncos were not paying Portis nearly what he was worth, they didn't want to mess with his contract because if they did it for him, they would have to do it to every player that wanted changes to their contract.
Let us all gather around and drink the Cooley-Aid of the Redskins.

But of course, they found a sucker in us. I still would have rather paid Champ than to deal with this mess with LaVar. I love them both, but I think it's obvious who is more trouble. I know it's LaVar's agents, but I thought he was smart enough to figure simple things like this out.
