Jamaal Anderson

Post by SkinzCanes »

This is the guy that we need to draft this year. He led the SEC in sacks with 11.5 and had 2 more in his bowl game. He is also very good against the run so imo he is a much better option that Gaines Adams. At 6'6 280 he also has very good size for the position and has excellent quickness as he originally went to college as a wr.

I was hopin this guy would come out. Gives the skins hope that they can get a quality DE. Now it is likely they could get him or Gaines. DT is important but i think pass rush and DE play could greatly help both the pass and the run.

Good find this kid is a stud. Hopefully no one has heard much of him and we can steel him in the second or third round.

Not likely. In his chat Mel Kiper Jr. predicts that he's going to be a top 10 pick.

Went to college as a WR?!? I say get him and let him play some downs as a WR. A 6'6", 280lb WR!!! Throw him a quick slant and let him trample the opposing D all the way to the end zone! He'll be picking DBs out of his cleats the rest of the half!!

I think thats right. I feel like we only have 4 picks: 1st, 5th, 2 6th's, and 7th. Or something like that.

He just leapt ahead of Adams and Branch on Kiper's Big Board. I'd have to see some tape before i say he can pass rush like Adams, who is a freak. But apparently he is just as good vs. the run. I expect Glenn Dorsey to jump to about where Anderson is when he declares as well.

This is like a dream I don't want to wake up from. A Razorback on the 'Skins active roster.

Jamaal Anderson is a hauss. FOURTEEN sacks on the year as well as being strong against the run. He lead the SEC in sacks and came up big in the big games. He has the strength to do almost anything. He is very effective verse the run. I saw him basically pick up Wisconsin's OT and throw him down before pursuing the QB on the bootleg.

As far as receiver goes, Jamaal is one of the better WRs in Arkansas High School Football history. Still has nice hands, as a soph last year verse South Carolina, he has a pretty cool interception return for a TD that was called back on defensive holding. He lost minimal speed after gaining around 75 pounds after coming to campus.

Overall, he is a 6'6, 280 pound monster who runs between a 4.5-4.7 and can jump over tall building. He even has the stats to backup his claim to a high draft pick.

There are really no highlight videos showing much of Jamaal Anderson.

This video shows the most of him; http://youtube.com/watch?v=T-YMM2PKJFM.

All the sacks on Tennessee QBs are by him and the hit as the video starts is by him. A few other highlights of him.

Other players in the video; #2 Chris Houston, who also declared early and is an athletic freak, is developmental. Also, #85 Marcus Monk who is a beastly WR who the 'Skins need to take a look at next year since he decided to come back.

Looks like he plays with a mean streak. Thats good. Gotta love the size and the athleticism. One thing i like about both him and Adams, they can both rush the passer well from the LEFT side. One of them and Carter together could be something to be dealt with.

I've seen a lot of Arkansas games this year......And I got to tell you! I was hoping this guy would stay! He not only has good speed but he can bull rush his way right through an offensive lineman! I was really hoping Arkansas could be contenders for the national championship next year, but with this guy gone.........We better grab him! And win the world championship next year! :)

Really not cool. I don't want to think about what could have been right now.

Did you see the Florida game when he threw that lineman down, knocked the WR on his arse, then tackled Leak?

Puts Chuck Norris to shame. Literally.

Chuck Norris would have stepped on the lineman a few times after throwing him down, Grabbed the WR in a hourse collar and drag him on the way to tackling Leak (whose career would have came to a end on that play). Still holding on to the WR he would then kick him with a roundhouse and knock him into the coach

This guy was never brought up in comparison to Gaines before he declared for the draft, because underclassmen aren't considered in draft evaluation until they declare, for the most part. He has been the top junior DE on Mel Kiper's list as far back as i can remember. He is bigger than Gaines Adams and posted more sacks. He is definitely more physical vs. the run and he can bull rush. I don't think anybody in the draft has the natural pass rushing skills and first step/speed that Gaines has around the corner, but Anderson is also very quick for his size. He is 6'6 280. Since Carter is going to be the weak side DE, I think you take Anderson because he can be a physical presence in the run game on the strong side, and still get to the qb. I would be surprised if the skins didn't take Anderson, Branch, or Dorsey(if he declares) unless they trade down. They need to stop the run and it starts on the line.

This guy would be a great pick-up. Kiper has him ranked higher that Adams. I like him better than Adams as well.

As I watched Super Bowl 22 last night, something stuck out to me, Charles Mann and Dexter Manley. Gotta have 2 great defensive ends. I think Anderson and Carter could be a real force. I'd grab him.

And then Jack Bauer came out of no where, looked at Chuck Norris, and Chuck Norris finally died.

And as for Jamaal Anderson, I've never really seen him play but I have seen Gaines Adams play and he's pretty good.

I just don't know if we should use the #6 Draft on a DE, when there have been MANY cases where high picked DE's have turned into busts while DE's picked in the 2nd to later Rounds have been hidden Gems.
