Suisham To Be Replaced?

Post by Jake »

• The Redskins likely will have a new kicker in 2007. Though Shaun Suisham missed only two kicks in 11 attempts, team sources think they can do better. John Hall will not be brought back.

I don't know why he should be replaced. He's been good on kickoffs and if I remember correctly, has made at least his last seven field goal attempts.

It wouldn't make much sense at this point unless they found a franchise kicker or something.

Yea, I dont think we should get rid of him, hell probably end up going to a new team and biting us in the butt.

"I was on the sideline and guys were talking about the score, and then it hit me -- we won by 21. I came in the locker room and I yelled it out, and immediately I just kind of broke down in tears. Because I miss Sean, you know."

NO. He's got a bit of a conditioning problem.

I'm all for keeping Suisam. He's cheap, reliable, and kinda good that he's not a big named guy.

Here we go with the "team sources" deal - I think there will be competition at most all positions considering how a lot of people played. As far as kickers are concerned I would not expect Hall to be a part of that - but to hint that we might have a new kicker based on the fact that Hall is leaving is just silly.

There are a lot of stirring going on with regards to any "formula" for our team. Being a 5 win team will do that for you.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Suisham's the best kicker we've had in years. That alone should compel our front office to trade him, along with our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks in '08 to the 49'ers for Taylor Jacobs and 'future considerations' in order to address our 2nd wide receiver needs.

Children, please listen to the above voice of reason. Competition will be the name of the game from now on until the openning day of the 2007 season.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

PFW has proven that they are not a consistently reliable source of information, the very fact that they printed this should act as a red flag

Ahhh Ladies and Gents,

Now we enter the season of speculation and conjecture where everyone is an expert or has secret inside information. I say we read the various rumors, stories from unnamed sources and the sports writers with a sense of comical recognition of the quality of information provided.

At the very least bring in another kicker for training camp and let it be an open competition. Getting rid of suisham right off would be almost as dumb as bringing in Archuleta.

exactly right - "tis the season ...." We all should expect the unexpected and let's face it our team, the owner and coaches and players have brought a lot of this on themselves and they "deserve" it. :P

The funny part is not all the rumors and conjecture, it's that so many people think that most of what is reported is more than just "reported". I know that I am way to quick to criticize any and all and I will try to be a little better about that BUT some of this "stuff" just plain does not make sense.

Thank You!!!!

PFW is a joke. Jake, please remember this next time you go to that site. They are rarely ever right about anything. They are really quite comical.

Suisham kicked good enough to be the starter going into training camp. Of course they will bring in competition, but it's his job to lose.
May #21 never be worn again by another Redskin but may every Redskin play like they are wearing #21 on their backs.

I would point out that Jake was just posting an article - I did not think he was "endorsing" it or anything.

i think most of us know where some of this "stuff" comes from and who can be relied on to "report" and who are known for their "creativity".

Relax bud, before you roll your eyes please be aware that I never said he was endorsing it. I guess I should have worded my reply differently so as not to stir up trouble.

I have never even heard of PFT, I know that PFW has proven themselves to be unreliable in the past, I think this story reinforces that. I don't find them to be worthless, I go to their site on occasion, I just tend to find their Redskins reporting to be suspect.

Suisham is MORE than adequate as our kicker. For the first time since maybe Chip Lohmiller, I have not been nervous on a 35 yard attempt. Let's bring this guy back.
Taylor and Landry will take no Prisoners!! - I just can't bring myself to delete it!
