Looking for information on Patuxent River, Maryland

Post by skinz74 »

I'm applying for orders (military) for my next duty station tomorrow and would like some feedback on the area, IE, housing, etc. Can't say it's not coincidental that I'll be close to the stadium...

I grew up there! I know it extremely well. Unfortunately I am in California all this week for training, but talk to me over the weekend and I will tell you everything you need to know. PM me. and I'll answer any ?'s or you can even give me a call.

Talk to you later.

I grew up across the Patuxent River from there, as well. My Dad still lives there, about 15 minutes from the base. I have friends stationed there. Heck, I think my Dad's neighbor is stationed there. PM me with any questions you have, and I'll be happy to try and answer as many as I can.

Ok, I cannot believe that Jansenfan did not mention this but Pax River is at most a 15 minute drive from Isaac's Restaurant. The place that provided us all with such wonderful tailgating food all year long. And by the way they have a wonderful Hotel attatched that is a the perfect getaway spot for you and the misses. Just make sure when you get up in the morning that you get the Crabs Benedict for breakfast. It's my absolute favorite breakfast anywhere in the world!!! ;-)

If I get orders there, I'll be a good hook-up for that, 'cause I'll be one of the controllers for it. I've done 3 air shows since I've been at Mayport, FL.

It's growing by leaps and bounds...all the folks in Waldorf...were I grew up are moving to St.Mary's county now. Be prepared for high housing prices. I think it''s a nice place...surrounded by water, point llokout state park great for fishing/crabing. Solomons Island across the bridge. I think you'll enjoy it

Might be going to Sasebo, Japan...will let everyone know when I get the results. Either way, I'm happy.
