This is getting really ugly, hopefully Snyder is just waiting to see him at mini-camp so he can settle this mis-understanding.

What LaVar is saying does not make any sense. If he is to be a life long Redskin how can they take a 18 million dollar cap hit in 2006. There is already a 6.5 million dollar bonus in the contract. This is clearly miscommunication and Lavar needs to take a step back and see that he is clearly mistaken. While I love Lavar I do not want this to divide the team. I know he say's that it won't affect the locker room and his on field play, but these things tend to take on a life of their own. Please Lavar calm down and play football.
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!
He agreed to the contract, he can live with it as for as I am concerned. There is no way he will win so I dont blame NFLPA for trying to get a settlement. If they pay him the money he will count almost 20 million against the '06 cap. There is no way I would pay him this additional money.
Death to all things remotely BLUE and SILVER!!!!!!!!!!! Hail Skins
NJ SKINSFAN is exactly right. No team, EVEN Snyder, could afford to have a player with an 18 million dollar cap hit. No way did Snyder even think about it. We cut Stephen Davis because his cap value was too high at what, 8 or 9 million? Not Payton Manning, Donovan McNabb, Priest Holmes, Randy Moss, Ray Lewis, or even Champ Bailey (highest paid defensive player) has a cap hit that high.
I like Lavar, but he doesn't change a defense the way Ray Lewis or Brian Urlacher does. No fan is going to take his side and say the Redskins should pay him 18 million or ONE FOURTH of the salary cap to one player.
He's got to get a grip and realize his agents are lying to him. And realize his griping about the difference between a 65 million and 70 million dollar contract is doing nothing but ticking off people who pull down 50 thousand a year.

Excuse, lol, Im accustomed to going against the grain and Im going to do it here. F*** HIM, CUT HIM. Basically...
I'm tired of this team being a gotd*** soap opera.
Lets get some fresh, young, hungry talent in here.
Lavar isn't that good of a player to warrant such a price, personally I would have kept champ and chucked lavar.

I think LaVar is crying over spilled milk.
Is this all worth losing your stauts as team leader?
He is already the highest paid LB. He has a $68million deal right now!!!!!
He says he does not want this to affect his relationship with the coaching staff. Does this sound like a Gibbs guy to you??
If he is not carful he'll end up in Arizona crying about how he was never given the chance to win.

6.5 aint spilled milk!. I do think he needs to keep his feelings to himself until they work this thing out.

It is when your agent says "We didn't have time to read the whole contract" Take what you got and shut up. Chalk the loss up to ignorance and move on. I really don't think Dan Snyder would jeprodize his business(The 'Skins) by commiting FRAUD.

Potson's are to blame
Pay him Dan?....just because Dan Snyder spends so much money bringing players in.... does not mean he needs to give away free money. Lavar and his agents signed a legally binding contract, they should have read over everything first. The Potson's are known through the NFL as shady people. I think Dan should stand his ground....HELL I WILL SAY IT..... LET LAVAR GO AND GET A COUPLE OF IMPACT PLAYERS IN RETURN. YES I SAID IT....He is still no Ray Lewis and one player does not change a whole gameplan. I am sure that this will not happen but it seems to me he is sick of losing and I think he wants to go to Pittsburgh. I am pretty sharp when it comes to football knowledge and I can bet you he will finish his career as a Steeler.

You're loaded. Give me some of that jack.
And I can't report all the money I get from the NFLPA selling my name to all the jerseys, NFL games, commercials and so on...
No wait, that's Lavar again. If he wasn't a man of principle he could have gotten his 6.5 million from the NFLPA the last few years.

Wow !
Who in the blue heck would the Steelers give us to match what we'd be giving up ?
Look, I know where LA came from. I know where he played in college. I'm sure you're plenty "sharp" in football knowledge. Heaven knows, we all are.
Still, I think your assertion is absolutely bonkers. What you're talking about has nothing to do with "football knowledge". You're talking more on the level of "Psychic". You're telling me you're in LaVar's head. I think that time and $6.5m heals all wounds.
If you could accurately predict the path that each and every presently disgruntled player will take, based on your vast "football knowledge", perhaps you'd like to predict where Ty Law will be next year ? It only counts if you call it right now, before he signs somewhere. If you do that accurately, I'll lend some credence to your ability. Until then, I'll assume you have to wait and see like the rest of us.

It's GREAT listening to all you Skins fans, by the way. We finally have Gibbs back and he's bringing things back to what they were. Back when the coaches and the players and the FANS believed the Redskins were something larger than life. Something you worked together for. And it's good to see us all pulling for our team, instead of a single player who now "isn't sure he can be a Redskin" for sixty some million dollars.
This is where it begins, Redskins Fans. It's good to be with you guys (and ladies).

Hey I just came back from work and told them that I'd like to get 2 dollars an hour. I mentioned something like "didn't read the contract that I signed" and that I was "under pressure to get the rental car back" and that they told me that raises "would be regular according to price of living" and that their raises weren't keeping up with the price of my living. I was pretty sure they would just give me an extra 6 grand a year.
Needless to say, any of you guys need an engineer that's a Redskin fan out there?

Nobody said that Lavar changes a defense as much as Ray or Brian, that isn't the issue here. We're not discussing that. We're discussing a man, who says he was screwed out of a lot of money. And you saying his agent is screwing him is like me saying Snyder screwed him, we're just talking from what we've heard, because we really don't know enough about the situation.
We've only heard one side of the story, and we're waiting to here Danny Boy. And if Lavar is crying over spilled milk, that is some expensive freaken milk...

I can't argue with you there. And I really like Lavar and wish he would be a Redskin for life. I love the way he plays and agree with you with all the coaching changes.
It's just that all us fans have had to follow our team through the trying years, and now things are starting to look up. I just hate to have what could be a new beginning for us Redskin fans that have followed the team through the last decade derailed because one guy wants 75 million dollars instead of 68. Especially when he signed for the 68, and his agent signed for the 68.
And maybe I just have a thing about agents, it just seems like they don't do much for the game. Holdouts, disputes, players getting released because of contracts that are paid too high, all things that detract from the game.
