Skins-Pats Predictions

Post by Justice Hog »

Okay, okay...gotta try to re-focus now on life in the future. Gotta stop dwelling on the past....

Next week the Skins will be playing a very formidable Patriots team. Yes, Brady may be hurt a little...but their defense likes to play games with opposing offenses.

What am I predicting?

Redskins: 10 penalties for 95 yards.

and

Redskins: 17
Patriots: 24

Hate to say it, but I think we'll be goin' 2-2 after this one. I won't be very optimistic until I see a cleaner game by the Skins!

^^^^ If we can avoid penalties, we can win it.

With the penalties I know we will have we are going to lose.

I thought maybe the Skins would get some changes in store for them with the idea of the fines.. but Spurrier killed that idea.

I agree.... we are gonna get waxed with these penalties... we could win if we don't have em.

I predict us to have 5 flags thrown our way for a lose of 35 yards. If the team plays the way they did in the second half of the Falcons game, we should be O.K.

ok penalties aside. we win with a strong ground game. ted washington is out plus 2 starting lb's(colvin, and i forgot the other guy's name). we run hard from the get go, then the passing game is wide open for some BIG plays.

I like hailskins line of thought and i'm going with:

Redskins 27, Pats 14

I try to scout the next week's opposition whenever I can, so I watched New England play on Sunday.... nothing spaectacular observed. Washington getting hurt drastically affected their ability to stop the run. Their backup is 60 pounds lighter than big Ted.

David patten, their #2 receiver, got hurt too, I don't know what his stautus is for this week yet, but he didn't play most of last week. The pats receiving corps ain't that impressive with or without him. Troy Brown is decent, but no problem for Champ.

The Pats seemed to endure a lot of late pass rush pressure due to coverage sacks and the receier's inability to get open.

I'd like to see that even moreso this Sunday.

Did not know that they had two LBs and Washington out - that will hurt them more then most might think - remember that Washington was the DT picked up cause they had problems stopping the run?

Makes me feel more hopeful - a ray of sunshine delivered by my fellow Skins fans - ahhhh :)

see, a few injuries sparked a little life into this thread. thats all everybody needed, just a breath of fresh air. brady's throwing arm is knicked(elbow i think), and ty law went down with a wierd ankle twist, he returned later in the game. still better pray he's 100% to cover coles.....

Brady looked really sore when he re-injured his elbow... but it didn't seem to affect him all that much.

Definitely something you want to be aware of when you're 'swatting' at him.

Once Washington went out, you could see a marked difference in NE's ability to stop the run. We need to give them some steady Betts early and then the passing game will open right up.

Ty Law may be good, but he's hurt, and nobody's been able to handle Coles even when their injury free, si I think this is another match-up in our favor.

Actually, unless Coles miraculously forgets how good he really is, that'll be a match-up we win every week. # 1 receiver in the league to date, and he looks like it too!

I read on washington post .com Wilbert Brown is giving away our secrets. We all know what happened when Johnson did that with the falcons, we adjusted. Skins are pissed because of the giants loss and will win this game easily.

I think Belichick IS going to have the appropriate defensive game plan in place for the FnG but, with all the injuries, won't have the personnel to quite pull it off.

It'll be tough for Ramsey but I think he'll get the job done (he better, I finally promoted him to starter in my FFL team).

My call: Redskins 30, Patriots 20

Redskins 28, Patriots 14

Ramsey tops 300 yards again, and Morton gets his first ST score.
