SB Team -- 1983 (close -- every win was sweet!!!!)
My picks don't indicate that this player would be the best player now. I rated them based on how they did at the time they played. A good example is Chris Hanburger -- he was too small to play LB today but was a great player in his day. I never saw Sam Huff play, except in clips.
Harvey had some nice years and could play today but we also had Wilbur Marshall and he played very well for us too. Monte Coleman probably wasn't even one of the top 10 LBs of all time but he was a great team player for us. He was not a starter but was a super sub and ST player. If you've never seen what he looked like back in the 80's -- you'd be shocked how cut he was (for his era). What an unbelievable athletic build he had...wow! He was a freak. I have to say, I did wonder if he used supplements.

No disrespect to the other OTs, but you are totally right on Lachey. The guy was on another plane. He gave up almost no sacks, QB rushes, anything for years. Including the 91 season when the Hogs allowed 9 sacks in the entire season. Including playoffs (and winning the Superbowl).
BTW, Jacoby did play some guard too, but he did usually play tackle.
Come on people! Learn and study about the best players in the history of your team.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

I can't go on the computer every day of my life, since I have a life and all. So I don't know a couple of players. So what? Just deal with it. I'm not obsessed with the history of the team so why don't you go whine to someone else.
My two favorite teams.......
Redskins
whoever is playing Dallas (except for Philly or New York)

You shouldn't be surprised at what RiC wrote, since you did start a "Best Redskins Ever?" thread. If you're not interested in history, then why presume that you know it well enough by giving the thread that title?

This is a quote to remember in the future. From now on, every time I do not know enough about something, I will pull it off.

I have given some thought to this and just cannot in all honesty pick one player at quite a few positions, so, I will read the "entries" with mixed feelings - I will say it is great to see the names of so many who provided so much pleasure over the years.
But to not include so many deserving players makes this very hard for a fan of only 30+ years.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
BEST OT
Jim Lachey (Sorry Jake, but Jimmy here would be HOF material if he'd lasted longer).
BEST GUARD
Russ Grimm
BEST CENTER
Len Hauss
BEST DEFENSIVE TACKLE
Dave Butz - (Might be Griffin when all's said and done).
BEST DEFENSIVE END
Dexter Manley
BEST LINEBACKER
Sam Huff
BEST SAFTEY
Ken Houston
BEST CONERBACK
Darrell Green
BEST KICKER
Mark Moseley
BEST PUNTER
Sammy Baugh (Still 2nd best season average EVER).
BEST KICK/PUNT RETURNER
Brian Mitchell
BEST COACH
Joe Gibbs
BEST SUPER BOWL TEAM
1992 (although it was probably the one that lost to Oakland )
RIP 21
