Not quite on the Eagles bandwagon
I don't think I've hated any team in our division as much as I have the Eagles the past five years. But with the skins out of the mix yet again, ten reasons I'm pulling for Philly to make a run:
1. Redskins out of playoff contention. Obviously.
2. Want to see another former teammate (Garcia) make TO look stupid.
3. The Giants are the whiniest, sorriest team in the division. Can't possibly root for them.
4. Sick of hearing how Tony Romo is the second coming.
5. The NFC East really is the toughest division in the NFC this year. Somebody from the division needs to prove it in the playoffs.
6. Eagles are slightly less cocky and irritating than in years past.
7. Saints are a nice story but Sean Payton is still just Bill Parcells lite. Much lighter.
8. Want to hear the phrase "sexy Rexy" as few times as possible in January.
9. Only team in the division to never win the SB. Makes us all look bad.
10. An Eagles superbowl run with Garcia at the helm will cause total chaos at the QB position for the Iggles next year resulting in an embarassing mid season collapse.

Ditto, hate "that team in Texas" and the Gints but would never chance being confused for a Iggles fan

The Iggles are my third most hated team behind Dallas and the Gints. I cannot totally root for the Iggles to do well but I think if they go deep in the playoffs with Garcia this year it will screw them for next year. Here's why - Garcia is a free agent and will be gone so McNabb will be back regardless of this year. McNabb is a total wuss when it comes to critisim and he will not play well if the fans are clamoring for someone else. So, yeah, go birds.

Convert her! It won't be easy but it can be done. I converted mine by way of me being in a better mood when the Redskins win. Of course, she wasn't a big eagles fan to begin with. I would have to slap her if she was saying e-a-g-l-*slap*. I wouldn't really slap her but I would have to find a replacement!

If you are a really serious Redskins' fan, there is no possibility of having a meaningful relationship with anyone who is a fan of another team in the NFC East. A friendship maybe even stretching it but there is no way that you could be that close to a fan of another team in this division.
You might want to really think about how deep your allegiance is to this team.

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Yeah - I did it too. My wife was an Eagles fan when we met, she even had that horrible green Eagles jacket circa 1988. But, through years of the NFL ticket she has slowly converted to being a Skins fan. Now that I am going to be a season ticket holder she will be at most of the games as well. So, you can do it.Cappster wrote:Fios wrote:My girlfriend is an Eagles fan and I still won't pull for them, go Saints (plus, the Eagles D is not very good, only the Colts have been worse against the run the past several weeks ... side note: I hate the Iggles but Brian Dawkins is an amazing player)

No way will I EVER be on the Eagles bandwagon but if they beat Dallas this Sunday then I will be impressed because winning three consecutive road divisional games is not easy to do. If they do that then they deserve to win the division.

Mom roots for ttiT.... Oldest Sister pulls for the Gints, her old man is a Gints fan too but their boys split between us and ttiT. Me, my Dad both my brothers and my other sister still love them (regardless of malice thinking)

You bet your sweet bippy I'm pulling for the Iggles.
They don't have any of those long-time hate-able players any more.
