When I access many sites, I get this message:
"This content requires Macromedia Flash Player". I then hit the button to download the Flash Player.
I go to the download page, hit "download now"...and am told it is successfully installed.
When I return to the page, I still get the "This content requires Macromedia Flash Player" message.
What is going on? Why is my Explorer not recognize that I downloaded it? Any advice/suggestions?

I did. Didn't work.
I went to this other site and downloaded the Flash Player from a mirror site. Seems to be working now. Can't explain why...just is.
Go figure.

Its always good to have the latest flash player from adobe and the latest version of java. If you don't, you could have issues viewing websites. Its also good to have the latest adobe reader.
None of the above require a restart but it is good practice that if your having a problem with your machine to restart.

on this page you will see two versions of flash player. One is flash player 9 and the other is shockwave. There is a difference. I couldn't tell you what it is but I can tell you from experience that sites that need shockwave won't run if you don't have this specific player even if you do have the regular flash player.

I'd delete all (free) Adobe products from my PC, Restart, then re-download all of them & see what happens......it won't hurt.

Here's a kicker. I had flash player working the other day. Today when I sign in to my PC, I get the same error message - I need to install it again.
What the heck is goin' on?!?!?!
